Here are a few photos of our Vintage Speedster on it's final drive up the PCH before being shipped to us here in Kansas. It was sort of sad to see her leave her native California but we were happy to have had the opportunity to drive her for several days there. California sure was fun in the Speedster but the traffic! Oh my. Starting and stopping all the time wasn't that great. At least here in Kansas she can really fly in the wide open spaces! We love her!

These things go 20 to 25 mph depending on the voltage. 30 on a two wheeler.

Kristi and Mike:
You should plan to join the caravan accross the country to Morrow Bay next April. There are now 5-6 planning this and will feed into the route we decide on as the group goes from East to West picking up new Speedsters. Plus you nad give your car a little taste of being back on the "Left Coast".
I bet if we get enough Vintage Speedsters we can arrande a reunion of sorts at Kirk and Mary's place too!---Jack

Ben's car has Benz headlights, if I'm not mistaken.
"Ben's", "Benz" - makes sense to me :-)
If one day I buy a '49 chopped Mercury the tag should be " MercsMerc"
ALAN, ALAN, AL, HEY ALAN....
A chopped '49 Merc is my ALL TIME FAVORITE sled. My dream garage would have (amongst a host of cars) a chopped '49 Merc in black satin-finish parked next to a red '76 246 Dino Spyder!

Jim,
A chopped 49 Merc is on the list of things to do at Luckys. I think there is a company that sells a FG shell. I want one to park out in front of Luckys (flat black of course) with some Roth done up and the Luckys logo. Kinda along the line of the Luckys Bobber we just gave away in a raffle.

Mickey - that Merc would be the perfect complement for the restaurant!
Yup they are headlights for a Benz. They come as a housing which include a blinker. I chopped off the blinker and put the blinker in the headlight. Then added daytime running lights.
Mickey, you steered me to Bobbertime in March 2008.

Hey folks, here is a photo of "1SXE-TUB" at the Daytona Dream Cruise Car Show. As soon as I pulled in my "chick magnet" attracted these four lovely "Hooter's Girls"! Actually the two on the left side of the photo ended up being former high school students that I had taught. I guess 'Old Guys" do rule!

That's what I'm talking about...
Hey...... I almost missed the boat!

Nice group there Per! I am going to be at my home in Ormond Beach during late Nov-early Dec. I would like to meet you and see your car. And your old students too! Will you be going to the Turkey Rod Run? Send me a email wpierson1@cfl.rr.com if you would like to get together. Great car and cool pic!
Tomm, I bet that is the view most folks get of your IM! What size tires are you running on the rear? Great shot of the car and I am glad you got some top down time in!
Tomm, with your set-up, I imagine that's pretty easy to do!
Next I need a splitter and a wing, eh? Really, I don't want to get a reputation for maniacal driving. I mostly drive sedately and let others go by whilst enjoying the wind and the sights. I also have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell...
