The schedule is "day to day" in my business so we'll see as we get closer.
Gerd,
Fly into Philly. I'll come pick you up and you can hang at the bistro bar for a day or so before we go to Carlisle. :)

Jim, glad to hear you'll be here, looking forward to it! Will be nice to see all the regulars and meet the new faces(to me) too!
Howard, had mine out this past Saturday AND Sunday, 70 and 62 respectively, some sun and clouds.

Danny, I would have loved to get it out this past weekend. My son had a "school" project to get done. Took all weekend. He'll pay for that!
Gordon, Ive tried to resend my info. All I get is a failure to deliver notice. Just know that Matt and I will be there for Friday dinner, leaving on Sunday. Cell # 917 846 4794. Pencil us in for all the activities. We are staying at the Carlisle Hotel. Have a couple of cool grill badges for the door prizes that Im planning to bring.

This site is AMAZING. The number of ways one could pickle one's brain is more diverse than I could have ever imagined.

OK... info sent! I can NOT wait to meet everyone! My wonderful husband has even surprised me with a luggage rack for our girl!!! I think he was afraid of the way I pack & that he'd have to travel with my bag on his lap all the way to PA! Pray for sunshine all up & down the East Coast!!!
And one question about this raffle... WHAT type of stuff do you do??? Is there a Min/Max to value? Is it meant to be serious or joke stuff? Car stuff or anything? Give me some ideas!

Susan, we've had a myriad of different things on the raffle table. Mostly Speedster oriented. Some items were extra parts someone had laying around, like a set of rear reflectors or a rearview mirror. There's been nice Carb covers and engine grilles.
or a Porsche Hawaiian shirt. We get some stuff from vendors also, like Maguiers car care products and nice bits from the replica builders. I got a nice IM shirt one year and an electrical thingy that flashes my center brake light.
Oh yeah, there's been many nice bottles of wine, too.

BTW....Anyone who can ID the fellow with the straw hat in the above pic wins a cookie.

Looks like George Brown to me. This picture is from 2004 right WB?
Yep, Hoss wins the big Cookie. That's a shot from May, 2004.
Knew it would take an older SOC'er to get that one.

Do we get bonus points for Karl Macklin with his back towards us, Greg Billesbach sitting, East Coast Bruce next to George, I can't remember the Lady's name, and Pearl in the background? (with the hood up) Looks like Karl's old (and George Brown's even older) IM parked behind Bruce, too.
Aw, Gordon, they're much to easy....now if one could ID the fella with the green shirt in the background to the right, that would earn some bonus points. That's the lovely Mrs. Billesbach next to Greg.
Also that's "Fern" parked next to you.

Who's that guy with his butt sticking up over that Gazelle in the far background.
Is that Alan Merklin??
Is that Alan Merklin??
That's not me, however, I did buy (and sell) a dark purple Gazelle at Carlisle that year.... ~Alan
Give up? OK, that's our own Stacy Campbell in the green shirt.
OK Everybody! Send Gordon your info.
BTW: The Caddy Shack is awake from winter hibernation. The Hotwings are as good as ever and they are ready for our group as always.

I wonder what we have to do to get Fern, Mike and Jose
Annex Canada?
Speaking of Karl Macklin (sort of), has anyone heard from him in a while? We used to get updates on his 912 and 914 projects, but those ended a while ago.
Hey WB, I should get two big cookies since I didn't make it to Carlisle in 2004. How bout dat!
Re: Karl M;
Por fortunamente, Karl has now entered the realm of "Soccer/Baseball/Football/etc...Dad" and spends a lot of his time either with his kids at events or driving them to/from said events.
Many, many of us have been there and can commiserate, I'm sure, but I'm also sure he's having a ball doing it.
I'll try bugging him via email to see if he'll makeCarlisle....

Happy speedster owners !
The real question is "Who is the mystery person that is administering the oath to that group?"
Any body remember the oath????? Didn't it start, "I, state your name,......"???? ;-)
Given the resolution of the photo, my eyesight, and the fact that I wasn't there in '04, I can only name Karl Macklin, Gordon and Chris Nichols, and Bill Drayer. The rest are a mystery.
We need to do a similar picture this year since we'll have quite a contingent from the left coast.

Greg B. is on the left.
Guess I'm not used to seeing Greg without a cap on.
Just sent info to Gordon. Lane, We'll meet at I-77 and I-81 at Statesville then on to Christainsburg.
My wife will not ride the Speedster that far. I have reserved a a room with 2 queen size beds and no smoking. Anyone willing to share cost, please contact me buy email.

Well, that's Karl Macklin in the foreground with his silver car (that he bought from George Brown - I think Karl sold it, too) and I think the guy with the blue shirt in the background is Alan Merklin. That's all I've got, but it looks like Chris was only half-heartedly repeating his oath.......
I think the guy administering the Oath was Mike Cochrane. He was getting us to pledge NOT to become Canadians, eh?
gn
Got your info Aaron... tnx

Actually, the oath was being administered by Eric Geisert with camera in hand, then editor of Kit Car magazine....he had a much better overall angle standing on a table. I believe this shot appeared in one of the issues. He's now back at Street Rodder magazine as a senior editor. Always stopped by to say hello and did a great job.
Hey.....
Don't look.....but even though we haven't heard much from him since he got his new car.......
Nolan's coming to Carlisle!

Aaron, email sent!
This looks like it's gonna be quite a crowd this year. We most definitely need a group picture.
Just a bump and a reminder, folks.....
If you are planning on attending Carlisle and haven't yet sent me your info on whether or not you're attending the evening dinners and so forth, GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR!!
Send me your info so I can let the restaurants know correct headcounts ahead of time!!
If you've already send your info in, please ignore this whining...
We've currently got over 60 people signed up and over 30 cars, so if you've been on the fence about joining us, remember that gas ain't gonna get any cheaper, and Lane's bought new underwear just in case we do a group picture.
Thanks!

Yeegads!!! But for you, Angela, I might be tempted.

Message received and noted. Thank you!
Lane: Sorry I mentioned it. Kinda-sorta conjures up a disturbing image, now that I force myself to think about it......
Everyone else: We now have a secret, never-before-seen-at-this-event, thoroughly entertaining and captivating Saturday Evening Speaker!!
I've had several suggestions for dinner speakers, but everyone I asked said something like "Speedstah, who?" or had a history of working as anesthesiologists or something (snore...)
Our 2009 Carlisle Dinner Speaker is appealing to everyone; techies, non-techies, wrench-pullers, key turners, spouses, spouse-equivalents (even hostile spouse-equivalents), not to mention both the young and old members of our traveling band.
It promises to be an informative and entertaining evening - surely one you'll not want to consciously miss.
Stay tuned - we'll be announcing more goodies in the near future! Such as:
We're also trying to work out a deal between the Dakotas and Milwaukee to take all of that excess flood water they have on the Red River and turn it into beer for the Carlisle meet.
I'm just sayin..........

Is it Larry the Cable Guy?
I noticed that you changed the date on the logo. Shouldn't it be 2009 instead of 2008?
