Lane--I expect my wife, Alice will make the drive with me. We are all set to meet Hoss in K-ville and drive to C-burg with him.

I am hoping my son, Russ will also join us in his restored 914 byt won't know until closer to the trip. I'd say 30% chance.

We are all set on reservations.

What we SHOULD be doing is organizing a caravan to Morrow Bay!!! I'm doing that next year. Maybe do an engine swap when I'm on the West Coast.---Jack
Hello, all!!

Hotel Carlisle Update!!

Due to the overwhelming response of attendees at the 2009 Carlisle Kit Car Show, we have sold out our block of reserved rooms at the Hotel Carlisle (We had 45 rooms set aside).

But don't despair!!!

They have plenty of other rooms available and are putting up folks from the Speedster Owners Group in a closely adjacent building (they actually have several buildings of rooms on property, so this is definitely NOT a problem.)

If you haven't yet made your room reservations, I would strongly recommend that you do so very soon. Please continue to tell them that you are part of the Speedster Owners Group, but your room rate may vary depending on amenities (#/size of beds and so forth).

Remember, also for you people trailering or need a place to park your airplane, there is LOTS of primo trailer parking space at the rear of the Hotel. Pull-through spaces and all!

Organizer of Speedstahs Meet Spydahs at Carlisle, 2009
I thought I read somewhere that a SOC member was coming from Parkersburg, WV. Are there any others from that area traveling to Carlisle? Andy and I will be leaving Thursday before noon from Carrollton,OH and will be traveling through Pittsburgh, hopefully before or about noon. Once on the Pike, stopping only for petrol. Is there no caravan from the heart of the Rustbelt?
Awww ... Thanks y'all.

Cory really wants pictures -- of everything! I'd like get people to send them to me so that I can make prints and send them to Cory. Since everything has to be shrunk down to be uploaded to this site, I'll be asking folks to clog my email inbox with higher resolution pictures.

On another note ...
I took all the hometowns from Gordon's list and I made a few maps so we can see where everyone's coming from.

Miss Teresa - Way cool map!

I'm with Jack - the "Big Picture" says a lot...

Lane:

OK on the Bateys.

Dinner headcounts have been fluctuating as a few folks have had to drop out, but we're holding at 80 for Saturday. Max and Toni Zimmer have to do a "work thing" on Saturday, so we'll have to harass Max on Friday instead. No chance he was gonna get the Farthest Distance award (he may not even be bringing his silver bullet) but this year looks like we'll have a battle for Longest Distance Driven. We'll see!

Dinner Headcounts:

Thurs: 51

Friday: 74

Saturday: 80

Wild Bill and I (and, I'm sure, a few others on here) remember when we had to twist arms to get more than four for Thursday dinner.....This has become quite an event over the past few years, thanks to East Coast Bruce kicking it off and a lot of other folks deciding to make the trip.

See Y'all at Carlisle!!!
