The Rooster is gone...

Well, I have sold my Roadster. It was not something I had intended on doing (at least not so soon), but I received a nice offer from a nice guy, and decided to let it go.

I will certainly miss it, as it was a sweet car. I'll drive my Miata for a while, and keep my eyes open for whatever comes along.

I'll hang around here to see what's going on.

It was quite unexpected to me, also. I wasn't even advertising the car, but...

I have a few things in mind, and another IM is certainly there. I can't go to Carlisle next year with a Miata, can I? (although I did see a lot of them there this year).

The Rooster was my first tube frame IM, and was a lovely vehicle, but we all have in our mind 'that car' that we want. Maybe I'll try to buy George's new Speedster - Ha ;-).

I'll be around this site still.

Man! It seems I'm getting a jolt weekly here. Although if a guy makes the right offer, you never know. If that ever happened to me, I'd see a tube frame in my future.

Well, I guess it ain't so, after all.

I just had a call from the buyer, and he has changed his mind. So, the IM stays in the Carley household. I don't really know if I wanted to sell it, but sometimes you just get caught up in the situation.

I hold no ill will toward the buyer. He is a decent guy who had second thoughts.

As they say, 'I'm back'.

I did go for a nice drive in the country last night, Alan, and it was great.

It's amazing how these cars can make sane men crazy. Not me, of course.

Sounds good, Brian. A parkway drive would be beautiful. I was on it a little last month when I was down that way.

As for the sale of the car, even though I have a Rooster, I guess I should not have counted my chickens until the eggs hatched.

I think Robert should get a 10 minute major in the penalty box for spreading bogus information. Can we get a video replay? There could be cause here for a game misconduct but we'll need to wait for the ref....was there any blood drawn?

My son bought me the new 5 CD set of old SCTV shows. It's quite a hoot to see all the old characters - Sammy Maudlin, Guy Caballero, Lola Heatherton, Doctor Tongue, Pelini Scleroso, Bill Needle, etc.

What a unique group of actors who came together at the right place at the right time.

You're right, Vince. SCTV was much better than SNL, but I wasn't going to compare the two.

You could compare SCTV to the old Saturday Night Live. SNL had some real talent in the early days...some of which were ex Torontonians.

Almost all the first SNL cast were Second City players.

Second City being the Chicago based improv theater, ah they broke new ground back in days of yore.

SCTV used to be the highlite of Friday nights....that and Dallas. We'd fly in an order in beer and rye (lived in a dry community) and watch TV...which went off the air at about 10 pm back then. Only one station...CBC.

The good ole days....???

I go away for a week and everything goes crazy. First Ron sells his car then Bob sells his car...or not! Then Ron goes out and buys the modern equivelent of the AC Cobra. What's with you guys and these modern Speedster wanna-bees? Miata's and the like are for girls. Real men drive Speedsters and have grease under their finger nails. All I've got to say is, I'm telling Mom....
