Lets see...
Pros:
-Painted/removable head rest/hump
-Nice Paint
-Nice interior (leather, comfy seats)
-Turn-down exhaust had a great throaty sound (not typical VW sound)
-Drove great, straight, and felt solid
-Two new Tonue tops included (black and beige) along with cabin cover with 1/4 zip
Cons:
-Registered as a 71 VW (Cannot do black YOM plates) I really like the look of black plates.
-Small pitting in cheap front grill pieces (left/right) Not a big deal though
-17,000 miles... although he said the motor has 5k on it
-Not fast by any means... pretty typical for a 17XX engine
I really liked the car and would probably go $17k (he turned down my $16,500 offer).
He said what he was asking was already on the low-end of the pricing spectrum... Which might be true if you're comparing it to one being sold at a classic car lot in Newport Beach for $24-25k.
It's probably worth $15/16k... but I did really like it
