The season has arrived....finally.

Finally have entered the season conducive to car shows and weekend drives - however, the rains have been plentiful as of late, double sided sword. From the drought at the end of last year, we have now entered a time with a surplus of water. Now, if the weather cooperates, the drive to and from the lake will be heaven!

Cal - WOOHOOO! Slip your gangway ties and put those rails in the water under full sail!

Cal - I forgot to ask, is that your Catalina in the picture?

I spent many a weekends on my Dad's 27ft Catalina growing up. The one in the picture brings back a lot of memories.

I thought Catalina was an Island off the coast of Los Angeles?

Catalina Island is also off the Dominican Republic coast ( near La Romana) and a beautiful place to relax and consume grog.

Damn! Now I'm missing my sailboat again!!!

Boy! That Mississippi is really high this year!

The Catalina isn't mine, I have a Hunter from the mid 80's. I'm also fortunate enough to have her on a floating section of dock. Pictures attached.

Nice boats, they don't seem to be affected by gravity or currents. Can you sail them upside down too?

Cal, I've got to meet up with you at the lake sometime. The wife has never been sailing and would love to go. Come to think of it, she has a birthday coming up June 1. Maybe we could work out a surprise cruise??

Bill, I loaded the pictures directly from the camera - should have fixed rotation beforehand - sorry. I'll try to fix - along with the clarity. Still haven't figured how to get that done.

Vince, I do surround myself with a good crew .... for cruising only. However, racing is entirely different. Telling one of the girls to "GRAB THE DAMN ROPE" gets a very cool reception and results in an unpleasant drive home. Telling the "missus" the same thing makes the evening down right cold.....

Justin, any time you and your wife have some time, let me know. We're out at the lake around three times a week - mostly for sunset and moonlight (when available) sails with some mind numbing libation and satisfying nourishment. I'm out there even more since I also get on the race course. (See note to Vince - racing with the wife is NOT recommended!)
