The shifter

Is there any means by wich the shifter can be moved forword so as not to press into ones leg? This being one of the few setbacks this car has, why has this aspect of the vehicle not been modified in any of the repros that I have seen?

I'm not sure if this is a Speedster or a Spyder but on my Spyder I have a very low shifter and moved it toward the passengers side giving myself some more room. If there's a passenger, tough luck or excuse me miss...

I modified mine by putting forward against the bulkhead - check it out under photos - spydermike.
