OK, gentlemen -- and you too Bill: it's time to get cracking on the Winter Projects. Turn up the heat in the garage, and get busy w/ the alterations and other whatever. Also, take a little time to go skiing, and so put all the "white crap" to good use. Dream of Spring. There's plenty to do. Oh, and drive out to Alan's place to drink beer and eat pizza and help him block out his car, when it's time. That might do it.
Geez.....don't know if I'll get the time tomorrow to ride around or not. Planning on being busy cleaning up leaves (we're in the middle of "Hickory Fall", here, when the Hickory trees drop their leaves (and nuts, too - good for the squirrels).

Sweater weather for the morning dog walk has been turning into mid-70's by 2pm. Tough to take all that sweating in the afternoon. Watched a few Dolphins over at the town beach later in the afternoon when we took the dogs over there to run around a bit. Life is good.

Planning on heading North for Christmas. Maybe THIS year I'll be able to do some skiing in the Great White North, like Vermont. Last year saw a snow drought until late February. Oops! If I want to go skiing late December, I better start working out, NOW! Wonder where my "Sam Adams" weights are????
One of my favorite memories (circa 1966) is pulling a 3 speed tranny out of a '62 Corvette and swapping in a 4 speed. Task was done in a Detroit garage in February with only a pot belly wood stove for warmth - you know that rumor that heat rises - its really true! That floor was only a few degrees above freezing. While we were backing the car down, the home made wooden ramps separated, the front wheels fell into the open space, balancing the car on an unstable pile of lumber. Two hours of very careful jacking (yeah Vince - jack this) and we were down. The test drive revealed they had given us the wrong throw-out bearing (clutch spins free above 3000 RPM). So we repeated the whole thing again two dsys later - with better results.
How's this for strange weather: high today in St. Louis is expected to be in the mid-70s and tomorrow snow flurries are possible by late afternoon. One thing about weather in the Midwest: if you don't like the weather wait 45 minutes and it will change!
Happy Turkey Day to all!

Hey Desi, and all you other board sports out there, if you ever get to Oregon, I'll show you an interesting acivity at Hall Lake in the Sand Dunes National Monument. A sand hill, about 250 feet high, with a 45 degree slope going straight down to a clear fresh water lake at the bottom. You hit the water going about 25 MPH. AWESOME!
