Me thinks if we could improve the offset of the wheels that car would be pretty sweet. Maybe if Magnus had a set of his wheels that would fit a boxster...
We purposely kept the wheels inset to maintain the vintage, wide body, look of the original Speedster. We can do any width and offset of our Stärke custom wheels. Our “wide 5 style” wheels will be available in 17” & 18” for a modern Porsche 5x130 bolt pattern.

That I would like to see. What is meant by “wide five style” wheels to fit a 5x130 configuration? That would require a centre portion that wide five wheels do not have.
Any drawings, etc.?
A 5x130 is a standard 911 wheel like a fuch but the Wide five has a 5x205.
If you see the lug nuts they could be fake at the 205 location and the real lug nuts could be closer in. I won't mention the one behind the other wheel.
Hey guys, yes these took some engineering. We hid the 5 x 130 lugs behind a Center cap. The wide five lug nuts screw into the wheel but are decorative. I love the style of this wheel so we figured out a way to make it work. Let me know if anyone would be interested in a set.

They look pretty nice are they only available with chrome rim and painted centers ? Also do you make them in 16 inch or only 17&18 inch sizes?
Just out of curiosity, what diameters, widths, and offsets are you doing?
I think we could make them in 16”, I’d have to check with my engineer. What size, offset do you think most Speedster owners would be interested in? Each set is custom machined so we can do any offset or width. We can also do any finish, chrome, paint, polish or powder coat. We did 18” x 8” on the show car. I’m hoping to have our wheel program up on the website in the next month.
IM's have 5x130 bolt pattern on their 911 cars if you are tooling up for those, IM and some of us who own them might be interested.
I have Fuch's right now 7 inch rear and 6 inch front... not sure of the offset but I am not presently in the market for new wheels. IM has a few outlaws out there with the same bolt pattern that might like the wide 5 look which was not available before.

Is this solution basically a two piece black drum cover?
If so, could it be used independently of your wheel?
I have wide fives. The fronts are attached with an adapter, the rears aren't. I would like to run drum covers but I haven't found any that would appear to fit over the front system. It looks like this could be a solution.

My lug configuration is different than that of the Boxster, 4 lug vs. 5 lug, and the gap between the two lugs that line up opposite each other looks too narrow to accommodate back brake drum plate, so I think I've answered my own question, probably wouldn't work.
I think the Starke system may create the depth needed to cover the adapter lugs but I don't think the rest of it would work.
Looks like Starke got the last laugh on the doubters.
Still looking for it at SEMA.

I believe they used someones else's booth to do the introduction on the 20th at SEMA and then pulled it out to show it at a Porsche show in Arizona. Note the original post for this thread. That's the Arizona desert I'd bet, and it is dated nine days after the unveiling.

They need to sell ONE to start and then more than a few to SURVIVE...I never doubted that they could produce a car or two....I just doubt long term survival! But good for them....we shall see what we shall see but the "LAST LAUGH" scenario has NOT been written
I don’t know why you’ve got such a hard on for the guy. If you look at the Engineering that went into that they are obviously capable of doing fabrication at some level. Even if they don’t produce a car at the very least they produced one set of wheels which is more than you can say. I don’t care what Starke does one way or another but give the guy a little time, building this car is a huge challenge. Surely someone went to SEMA, did they see the car? Are there any pictures of it?
I for one, am excited. This took lots of work and investment. It is the closest, in my opinion, to fitting modern engineering with classic design. Bravo !!!!!

I'm always interested in any high quality innovation that adds to the options we have, an entire car, or just an element that can be used or adapted to improve existing ones.
The wheel and drum cover assembly above is an example. Who knew that was going to come out of the Starke project. I was kidding in a prior post about the SEMA car only having two hubcaps, now I know why.
Whether they sell 1 car or 100 hundred cars, they are in our game. They could become a significant manufacturer or evolve into a purveyor of interesting options or move on to something else.
We lose nothing in this, they risk a great deal.
My beef was their initial marketing on this site. That has little to do with the actual product as long as they don't grossly misrepresent it and put down those in whose path they are trodding. That is a matter of character and courtesy, not about the cars.

From a philosophical/historical/zeitgeist/testosterone-laden perspective.........I have often thought about why WE/ME/THOUSANDS have been unable to let go of that simple little bath tub of SIX DECADES ago. Heck, they only made 1000 or so "D" roadsters built and a TOTAL of 75,000 356 cars in their entire production line.
Likely it is that most of us are baby boomers who grew up in the 50s/60s/70s and our DNA is severely tied to cars.....we have witnessed the fins, chrome, muscle big blocks, along with the gas-sipping mini cars. The fascination with the European TRs, Healys, XKs, and the Italian super Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati still lingers today such that they command such huge numbers. We cant let go and I CANT LET GO.......of course 99% of our cars are NOT original tubs but we still PISS big dollars down the drain pursuing our individual dream tub. Heck, there was no 2.7RS 6/915 5 speed back in the day....so I'm a bit of a hypocrite....but it sure looks like the original and stirs the pages of the past. The mutant, altho paying homage, to the great Dr.F, is not mistaken for much of anything....which is fine.
My problem is that my memory is so fierce, that my perspective is such that these mutants stain and detract from the originals so much so that it is laughable. I see many a white/grey haired, both lady and gent, come over to my car and graciously comment "wow, beautiful car, what year is it?". That moment, we are together back 50 years when you could ride the subway or walk Central Park without being violated and when a cheeseburger/fries/and coke were nutritionally sound. It is COMFORT for me: Leave It To BEAVER and Dennis the Menace wearing KEDS sneakers, Dick Vandyke and MTM getting a kiss on the cheek, and our President not caught grabbing p*ssy on tape or worse.....a scant FEW feel good minutes together with a perfect stranger.
Just gives me a few quality minutes every so often.....NOT that I am living in the past mind you.....just cannot let go of the simple little rust bucket tub with cloudy side windows and a billow of smoke coming out of the tail pipe. Just cannot, for the life of me, let go. I dont mind the mutants coming along....jobs, prosperity, reinforcing the history of the tub.....its all good....

I have a 23 year old daughter that speaks of "the gold old days" which I find very funny! Every generation will likely have a similar perspective. She laughs at how the old cell phones use to be CLUMSY.
Hey guys, Sorry, if I forgot to tell you we decided not to go to Sema months ago. We decided one week in Vegas for the launch was enough. I’m flattered so many of you like our Stärke Speedster and I appreciate your support. At the end of the day, It’s our mutual love & respect for the original Speedster that fuels both of our passion. I’ve loved the design of the Speedster since the very first time my father showed it to me when I was a kid. Decades later, I just wanted a more modern version. I also wanted to share this design icon with my kids and to extend the following for the next generation with a modern evolution. Not to mention, I like a challenge & wanted to see if we could do it.
Over the past few months, words have been shared on this site and if there’s anything I ever said that offended anyone I apologize. I hope in time you’ll find our Stärke Revolution Speedster to ignite more passion and awareness for the original Speedster and bring more people into the community with our modern version. We have tremendous worldwide interest and are already scaling our manufacturing to meet the demand. As soon as our first production model is off the line we’ll have someone from Speedster owners do a thorough review. It would be cool to get the original together with the Stärke Revolution Speedster for an article. Power to the Speedster... classic & modern.

I contacted Starke about getting a set of the 911 wide fives, and got a very nice message back. I don’t want to go into details here (it was a private email) but suffice it to say they are ready to start making the the wheels, should anyone want a set.
