Steve and I are going to build another kit car and I purchased a donor car for the project. It's a 1982 911 SC. Turns out that it might be a little too nice to go under the sawzall, so I've been driving it.
Been a few years since we last had a 911 but as soon as the heater went on and the familiar slightly oily smell invaded the cockpit - I knew I was home! It's really pathetic that I actually think it smells kind of good... angela
Shall I tell you about the time I nearly side swiped a parked car because the heater in my Corvair (very similar to the VW design but produces more heat, including the aromic smell of oil) was feeding me carbon monoxide and I did know it? Scary, at 65 MPH.
I also almost got gassed going to work one winter morning in my 66 bug, scary, started getting a headache and sick to my stomach. The things were airtight and that was not good. Thank god for drafty Speedsters I guess. Bruce
