Hi Eddy---you are right about so much hanging down there and yes, I measured from the lowest part. I was lucky that my car has a built in adjustment so I just turn a hex wrench and the rear moves up and down as desired.

This is the 4th muffler that Jake had on the car; the original one, the Vintage (Chinese) one, a CSP Python and now the A-1. He just wasn't satisfied with the engine with anything except the A-1 and the engine dynoed at 17 more HP with it than the next best one.
Lucky for ne Jake is such a PITA when it comes to wanting it exactly right.

The downside is all the low-hanging pipes but raising the clearance to 5 1/2" completely solved any problems with clearance.

Good to hear from you, Eddy.
Pls see the special built (by the HooptyDriver, no less) skid plate I use to save the piping. Yes, one has to be a little mindful of some humps, bumps and driveway angles, but really, not too bad. I have not measured the clearance to the nearest 1/16", but is is pretty close to the ground. I like the way it handles down low like that, so OK by me.

The other picture is from a car museum I came accross in FL, I think. Like maybe the first, or nearly so, gas combustion engine ever made. Was under a wooden buckboard, and musta weighed 100 lbs and put out about two HP. What you see here is the exhaust header. All you need is a good plmber, and you're set . . .
