I've had my Pertronix Billet distributor for about 8-9 years now with no problems. Not sure if the module in their own distributor is different from the point-replacement modules used in 009s, but I like it.
Bill Prout posted:Robert M posted:Cole Thompson- posted:Stan, is it just the Petronics module you don't like or is it the whole concept of electronic points?
Is there another electronic module you prefer?
I ask because I do want to go back to electronic ignition, I hate points!

I have one and it works great.
Is this the best bang for the buck? I've been waiting for my P module to kick the bucket before upgrading my system on the 2110 stroker...
I'll ask again since the topic/issue has been resolved
Since you ask...
I'm a big advocate for the CB "Black Box". It gives you a completely customizabe spark-curve, with vacuum advance, using an 009 or clone- locked out.
The thing that is lousy about any mechanical advance distributor, but particularly the clones is that when it comes to advance (when it starts, how it comes on, how much total)- you get what you get. It's possible to get them recurved, but good luck with that.
A Black Box is $200. It's as close to fully cusomizable as you're ever going to get, and deadly accurate (assuming you have a decent pick-up module)- not crank-fire accurate, but pretty good.
Thanks Stan.
