Thinkin of trading the speedy

Strait up for this Westy. Super slick bus. What do you guys think. Speedy needs a few things and bus is done.

How's the camper interior look? Any interior shots? I'm and old softy when it comes to the early Bay Window buses. What year is it, maybe '70 give or take?

She's a beut. Don't know that I'd make the trade unless I lived somewhere wet.

I don't know how to evaluate what the bus is worth, but it's GOOD lookin' and if the values are similar, I'd grab it. Good used Speedsters are always available. Most of the buses are not...at least not good looking, restored ones.

This one looks good but I wouldn't consider a trade for one unless it was a pristine '67 or earlier.....

This bus is a 71. Last of the type 1 engine style. It has a new BAP turnkey 1776. Whole bus is slick. The interior is done in grey tweed and is complete including the childs cot for over the front seats. Pretty sweet and really needs nothing.

I have a flared speedy that needs some little things. Probably worth in the 9~10K range. I moved and no longer have a good place to work on stuff so the bus is attractive for that reason alone. Also have a 5 year old that I would like to start camping with. I like my speedy but would also like to have something the whole family can go in.

If that's the case Ben, go for the Bus as it looks cool too. I like those Fuchs...

Ben, now it sounds like a No-brainer. You can't put a price on spending more time with the family.

Well I went off and did it. I traded the Speedy. I now own a really slick 71 Westy. I also have a really excited 5 year old. I will still be hangin around here though.

Definitely! You can always get a hold of a nice unfinished car and turn it into a treasure; you have the experience and know how!
