Posted for sale here. The frame mods, suspension, 5-speed, etc.... All very interesting, to me.

Now that is interesting.

Firstly, your image isn't showing up in the first post, Ed (probably because it isn't an attachment), but I followed the link(s) to the ad, which in turn has a link to the pictures.
I'm glad I went to the work, because you and Michael are right - that is a very interesting build. Your picture (the one I'm quoting) is the money shot. That's a very, very expensive shroud (I forget the name of the guy who makes them, but Anand has one on his super-spyder)... and a glimpse of the IRS rear suspension.
I know you noticed it, or you wouldn't have posted it, but I've never seen an IRS Spyder, and I think it's excellent.
Thanks, Michael and Ed.

The shroud for Anand's faux-cam motor was built by Ibrahim Kuzu.
I really like a LOT of what this car illustrates.
The rear suspension though is pretty heavy duty, and a bit complicated. It can be done simpler and lighter. No I haven't done it, nor will I. I did design it though and purchase most of the materials.
At the end of the day, it still has a ball joint beam. And that beam has coilovers/booster shocks at that. I believe that is where the suspension really needs changing in the Spyder world, the rear could be done easily enough.
I really don't get the 4 x 130 wheels though since so much effort was spent elsewhere. Wide5 or 5 x 130 would be better. Type4, 901(or is it a 915?) trans, Kuzu shroud. Front oil cooler and ducting. Really intricate tube work: almost Birdcage Maserati tubes. Very, very cool stuff.
I bet that thing weighs as much as most Speedsters now. I really like it, don't think I'm dissing it. I would have done some things differently if I was spending all the cash that took to get done.
Yes: the suspension work and fan shroud are both extraordinary. Both are different from anything else I've seen.
For example: the fan itself looks just like an original Carrera fan. But the shroud doesn't. And it predates the Kuzu shroud by decades.
Let's compare. This is an original:
One of the things that sets off the 547 shroud from imitators is the fan center offset. From the back, it's slightly to the right of the engine and transaxle's centerline.
Now here's Anand's Kuzu-engineered facsimile:
See how clever this adaptation is? The fan itself is dead center, but the shroud is shifted slightly to the left! So subtle I didn't notice until yesterday.
Here's the long-promised CB Centermount overlay by Bic Green. I don't know that this project ever shipped. Someone said @chines1 had one for testing a couple years ago...
This one used a VW doghouse fan with a nosecone of Bic's design and manufacture. You can see it's perfectly centered all around, and the fan is lower than a 547 fan. Still very similar to a real-deal 4-cam shroud on first impression, but not in the same league as Anand's shroud.
And finally once again our new contestant: Again, dead-center. And there's no separate velocity ring. But the fan itself looks "right."
This looks to me like a cross between the Bic shroud and the Kuzu shroud. But keep in mind it's on a Type 4 engine.
Yes we did some testing on Bic's shroud version 1 and version 2 and were supposed to get version 3 for testing but that never happened. I felt like he was close to having it right, but just not there with v2. I still had too much of a delta left to right in CHT.
As for this spyder (sorry i forget the client's name) its been to our shop in the past. Owners states that it works very well, and I have no reason to believe it doesn't. We only passed on consigning it here because it was just so different from what we build and to me, it is a pretty big unknown, so we decided we could not take the liability of selling it or it being "endorsed" by the factory with such large changes. That said, Im sure it'll make one hell of a fun toy for someone.
@chines1 sorry if I asked this before but did the Bic shroud you tested have a vane system installed? If so, how close was it to the FJ Camper insert vanes?

The first one did not. I think some was added to v2 but its been so long I don't recall. That is the direction it was headed for the later revision 3, just not sure how far it got. I've installed several Kuzu shrouds now and they do have veining and dirverters.
