"At the very least I may join one leg of the caravan from points south (Camarillo to..?)." - @Jon T

John, great job on the specs for your car!

It would be great if you could meet up with the June 3rd (Friday) SoCal Caravan to SLO. I think we tried to do this before (Camarillo 11:30AM rendezvous) but missed each other due to caravan delay.

If you do have the opportunity to meet us in Camarillo to show-off your new ride, hopefully you could join us as we travel north on 101. We typically exit 101 just beyond Ventura at the beach exit and travel along the beach to Rincon surf spot (about 30 miles) where you can jump back on the 101-South back to your crib. I can shoot come video of you traveling along with the caravan.

I'm waiting on a Spyder, and was told to use 356a emblems. I was going to use emblem adhesive backing. I dont want to drill holes in a new car.

The Porsche scripts are the 8.5" long 356A versions. The hood-handle crest is used, but with a bakelite backing underliner. I cut my own from some epoxy circuit board I had laying around, good luck finding bakelite.

Just drill it. Make a manila folder template of each emblem, EXACTLY marking the stud holes. The emblems may differ slightly so you'll need a template for each emblem. Masking tape the area, and measure at least 3 times. Put the car outside and look at your templates from a distance to be sure they're straight. Then drill. I used a really small drill, then checked the actual emblem for alignment. Then drill them to size, slowly and carefully. Seal the raw fiberglass with super glue, touch-up paint, or clear nail polish.

The crests are easy, only one hole each. I did use a dot of silicone to prevent the crest from spinning.

The Porsche and Spyder scripts have a higher difficulty level.

Drilling the emblem holes can be a little hair-raising. But it does separate the men from the boys!
