I agree Lane. This guy is very talented and has amazing creativity, but it is just too over done for me. When I look at how the wheels fit under the flared fenders, something looks very wrong and it's interesting that it apparently looks ok to the builder. On the other hand, a lot of people probably look at a Vintage or JPS widebody and probably say the same thing, that it just looks wrong.
Again, the detail of his work is really amazing.

You're absolutely right about the rear bumper, I couldn't put my finger on what it was that bothered me about the profile, THAT'S exactly it! I think that the body might benefit from being lowered a bit over the chassis in front as well.

Over all a nice styling exercise for sure but it would REALLY be interesting to see what Alan could do with this as a starting point, see just what his magic might result in ! ! ! !

I've seen this car in person (or its identical twin). It was at a small VW repair shop that is located near the school I teach at. I inquired about the speedster and was told it was built by an ex-Intermeccanica employee. I like the interior, but the exterior is a bit 'over-the-top' for my taste. As Troy mentioned, there is something wrong with the front fender/wheel arrangement, and the front and rear bumpers look goofy.
Be interesting to see if it sells.
Too bad that it's not really to your liking Alan, would have loved to see what you might have done with it. I really DO like it, it has a European feeling to it, kinda like what's going on with the PGO in a way. With an oval Beetle roof graft:

Some panel adjustment, a dark graphite paint and such, I think that it could be quite a neat ride and a definite show stopper. And NOT in a bad way at all. Now is it the car that you've always wanted to own, no . . . not at all. Would it be fun for a while and draw considerable attention, yup!
Isn't PhotoShop cool ? ! ? ! ?

Any time you're wondering what something might look like, just whip up a PhotoChop and it's pretty much like it really exists. You can get a pretty good look at what you're contemplating in short order.

Even the impossibly weird stuff, like, "I got this here VW bus . . . an' that there ol' COE hauler, I wonder . . . . ?

Well . . . it's just a series of mouse clicks away!
