Hi all. This winter I plan to take my car back to Carey to have it repainted and have some other upgrades done. There is a paint mismatch between the rear clip and the rest of the car that was caused by the respray done following the customization that I asked for for the rear exhaust through the bumper risers. It's metallic paint and, depending on the light, you can see a real color difference. I would have to point it out to you, but, once I did, like me, you would see it. Also, I've sustained some damage since I owned it, and my mind just won't let it go. My original plan was to just fix the damage and spray the outside with the same paint. However, I have also found the metallic paint very difficult to touch up. Therefore, now I'm debating a complete color change, while I'm at it, to a non-metallic paint. I saw a '57 Vette on "Overhaulin'" the other day that came in white and went out midnight blue. I thought that that would be an awesome color What are your thoughts all?

Lane, Carey says that it's not all that bad (I was surprised). My interior is black. My cocoa mats have silver dots in them, but I don't think that that's a big deal. Angela, black is a very good idea too. I thought that MB would be a little more unique, though. I love dark colors, but, normally, they are very hard to keep clean. However, Natalie is always garaged, comes out only on nice days, and gets dusted and speed-cleaned while she's warming up to idle. Therefore, she's virtually spotless most of the time.

There are some truly great dark Porsche blues - especially from the 911 cars.

Iris Blue and Petrol are two of my favorite dark Porsche blues

Petrol (sometimes looks blue, sometimes green depends on light)

Ken's right - he did say non-metallic blue. Bali would be a good choice. Also, the Sunoco blue - not sure if it was a Porsche color, but it was a color on the race cars. Non-metallic and dark while stlil being somewhat bright.

I saw a 911 painted Pepsi blue. It was gorgeous.

Carey sent me some photos this morning, much like Ken's. Actually dark gray is what I originally wanted, but, I believe, at the time, it was a special order color and I wasn't ready to spend extra for it. I'm excited now. It will be like getting a new car next spring. In addition to the paint, I'm getting a CSP shifter and Carey is going to mill out my Mainley knob so that it works, I'm going to get some of those slick cup holders like Marty has, a sump with a drain plug, finish off the rear fasteners, with Tenax (the front are already Tenax), and a list of even smaller maintenance items. Madness, madness, madness.
ken that green is oh so cool..and i'm also flip city about minilites

I like the Grey better than silver. Grey has character. Grey is classic.. Grey harkens' back to a time of German simplicity in style.

Silver in my very humble opinion (and no disrespect to all the silver SOC folks) is still boring. I will say silver with a red interior can be snazzy

I agree with Ken about the car being so cool that it's impossible not to like the color...Aaaah, but be careful.

Decades ago a good friend worked as an instructor at Famous Artists Institute in Westport, CT. One of the founders drove a spectacular milk chocolate brown Ferrari coupe. My friend fell head over heels for the unique color...and duplicated it on his VW Beetle.

It didn't 'translate' very well...His milk chocolate brown Beetle simply looked like a big turd.
