Having the VS painted. Stripped the grip tape like threshold cover off today. Is that the only option for Threshold covers on the car.
Does someone sell a polished aluminum piece or maybe a rubber ribbed cover with aluminun trim similar to the original?
I did a search and found nothing. Not too crazy about the look of the tape

The stuff used on CMC's is commercial small ribber hall runner. It's glued down with contact cement. Unless you want it to look like Trapper's pin strip suit on MASH, you'll need to order 3' of it - so $35.

Home Depot has the same stuff for under 5 bucks a foot, but you can use base molding and cut it to fit. Its $3.79 for a 3 foot piece

If you go redneck, remember that besides classic diamond plate, there's also the more outlaw shag carpeting - still available in Sunshine Yellow and Avocado.
A real redneck would never use diamond plate, he'd use Okie chrome (aluminum paint).
The shag, diamond plate and camo tape are tempting.
one could not go wrong with any of the three.
However the ribbed rubber looks like it might work just fine.
