I just checked my new throw out bearing that came with my Kennedy adapter setup and the bearing does not appear very smooth. The bearing I removed is as smooth as a baby's bum but this one grumbles noticeably with a bit of pressure and turning by hand. Is this right / normal ? I would have thought it would be dead smooth right out of the box. Thanks.

Should be smooth.

All sorts of things go on behind the scenes in parts places and one of the more common is inattention.

It's not at all beyond the ethical limits of some people to buy a new part and then return their old part as the new one to obtain a full refund.

Next the inattentive parts/inventory/stock person puts it back on the shelf with new ones until you come along.

Too much work to take chances on it. Ask for another one.

That's what I figured, Ken. Thanks. I reinstalled my slightly used one. The engine's in as of noon Thursday. Should have it running Saturday.
