Throwout bearing clip install? | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Anybody privy to the secret as to how the second (or, ok, I'll start over)throwout bearing clip is somehow put in? I have the engine pulled/dropped enough to get at things - but not out - so's I can't face straight into the shaft, bearing, etc. I'm flat-out out of rarified language. I have either the old looks-like-a-staple clip or the newer(?)
coiled clip at my clumsy fingertips. Thanks.

so, you have an IRS style tranny?

it's pretty straight forward to replace them, but i do recall having to bend the spring quite a bit to get it under the clutch arm.

search around on the samba - lots and lots of great info in the gallery and forum.

They're on. I just needed to google some new obscentities.
