First thing I have to express my regrets at having screwed the dates around and missing the Saturday Caravan. I hope no one was put out, but if so, I am very sorry, the 31st was marked on my calendar. I've been going to the CSRG races for over 25 years, always on Sunday. I just wasn't paying attention - again...very sorry.

However, I did get to meet Eddie Janis Sunday, we had a nice chat. This guy is fussy about his car, out pops the California Duster, I'll bet more than once, and he has the nicest bra that fits below the hood, effective because thats where most of the bug kills are. His care shows, the car is beautiful and we all know about black. Pretty sad that I parked my bug killer next to his speedster.

Speaking of killing - how many critters did you guys smash Saturday? The crows on the road were in the millions, just gnawing away. Super fun to have them fly up and around while speeding along, big black clouds of them. There was eagle with at least a five foot wing span, jumped from the side of the road and buzzed me, he might have thought I was a meal, he seemed almost big enough to pull it off.

I shot some wide 5 wheels and posted them in the Robert Carley "Wide Wheels" topic under Technical General on this forum.

There are other pictures in my photo file.

The road to Colusa is indeed beautiful - two shots below. There was virtually no traffic on the road and I drove the way I wanted. I even stopped in the middle of the road take pictures.

Hey guys,

I just got back from Reno and Thunderhill a few hours ago. I was gone from Sat until today and there was 356 messages awaiting me in the Forum, I loved the number, 356, is that fate or what? I enjoyed the races on Saturday with you guys. Seeing those 50 year old 356's tearing around the track brought back some nice memories. And yes, those Lotus 23B's were really the giant killers then as well as now. Fun wathcing those V-8 Can Am cars trying to chase it down! I drove RT 20 from Williams to I80 right south of Donner Pass on Sunday morning. Colusa is a real pretty town, almost out of the 30's and 40's. Grass Valley really impressed me also. Some great Speedy roads around there I bet. Terry Nuckles really lives in a beautiful area.

The rest of the trip to Reno was OK until I starting trying to make a fortune, wrong, needless to say I had the opportunity to try an ATM machine for the first time. But I learned a few things I won't forget next time. For a fee, I'll pass them on! Left Reno early this morning and hit snow covered roads right out of Susanville, followed a snowplow for about 30 miles untill he stopped and then I was on my own for about 75 miles and 30-40 MPH. Thank God I didn't have Speedy but had my 4WD Ford Escape. Made it home OK.

Thunderhills was great, admission was $5, how can you beat that!
