Thanks for the comments!  I love the colors.  Selling it has been a difficult decision.

If you can get BAT to list it, I'd go there.

Wrong time of year for top $ on East Coast.  Keep it til April/May maybe and offer delivery at the Carlisle event.  Try SAMBA for free listing.  Other alternative is ebay.

I always hear that, but the prices never seem to vary much.

I keep looking at this car. It's everything I want but I just have my mind set on a red/tan or maybe white/tan. I recently (2 months ago) had great success selling a car through Hemming's.  Hemming's was the only place I advertised it. I think it was $99.00 for 3 months of internet and 1 print issue. It sold within 2 days of posting at the asking price and I'm still getting calls about it.  As you probably know they have a "Replicas" category with many Speedsters. Good luck. Someone will love this car as much as you and I.

Put the car out on TheSamba last week.  Thinking about listing it on BaT if they are interested.  That is a fun site.  Watched a restored original '56 speedster go for $325K!  Just FYI...I would discount the car for any SOC member if interested.

New Porsche has agate gray metallic

Mazda Machine or Meteor gray

It is called Citroen Grey Silver Metalic.

Porsche Artic Silver has some deep grey in it while still being a silver...beautiful color.

They are pretty comfortable.

Anyone know why BaT would not want to list a replica speedster?  I just saw today an early 2000 Beck Spyder go for $40K, but within 5 minutes of sending them a request to list my car they rejected it.  Doesn’t make any sense.

The FACT is it was a 2004 RS SPYDER(BECK) with a GENE BERG 2165 and loaded with DISCS, etc. It is NOT a SPEEDSTER....just for clarification. It is a different car altogether. Others might know why they would reject your ad but it is NOT the same car. Best of luck in your sale and Happy Holidays.

Unfortunately I don’t know much about Spyders.  It was fun to watch the auction and see all the commentary.  I was just surprised by how quickly they rejected the request to list a speedster replica.  It doesn’t look like they have ever had one auctioned on their site, unless I am missing something.

I have NO IDEA why they wouldn't, especially one as nice as yours? They are in business to MAKE MONEY and a commission so I would think that your car is a reasonable opportunity for buyers.

That being said, the commentary got a bit petty and critical but its all good and you might want to inquire as to why?

I sent them a note asking why.  You would think anything could go.  It would be nice to understand their logic.  I’ll let everyone know if they reply back.  

Obviously they'r OK with replicas. Hence the Beck Spyder. I've seen other replicas on the site too. Eager to hear the reasoning on this.

So Hemmings currently has a maroon coupe for sale as well as a Maroon Beck with tan interior. 

I wanted to list my 1983 911 Cabriolet with a 3.6l and BaT would not let me set the reserve where I thought it should be.  We went back and forth several times and they wouldn’t budge so I didn’t list it.

For whatever it’s worth, BaT just listed a ‘56 Speedster. Although it carries a certificate of authenticity from Porsche, the Speedster does not have the original engine. In addition, it is not wearing its original color or sporting its original interior color-all have been changed. 

But it does have records that date all the way back to.......1998. Hmmmmm. 

I found it funny to read all the comments, as a good majority of them revolve around the historic airplanes in the background of the photos, and less about the car itself. 

@Glowman, MD: 2010 TR Speedster, given the wonderful appearance of your Speedster, perhaps BaT was afraid it may deter interest in this “real” Speedster?  Complete speculation of course.

I am looking at an original coupe.  Something I can drive and not worry about.  I would love to keep the speedster but need the room.  It has been a great car to own.

I am completely new to Speedster Replicas, and even newer to SpeedsterOwners.com. It was a beautiful car and I spent an absurd amount of time trying to set up an appointment to see the car but never able to do so. When the "owner" said the car was locked in a transport container ready to be shipped to me, I finally wised up and realized it was a scam. I forget the site where I originally came across it but I did report it. The posting was still there a long while after.

Amazing. I did get the same offer for the same car. Actually I got offered 3 different tiles in 3 different cars. 

It looks like the scammers are all over the speedster cars.

Very unfortunate that there are quite a few a**holes out there trying to pull this crap.....but certainly pays to use common sense and SEE/TOUCH/SMELL a car or a real live PPI proxy before buying. Good to see copies of titles, etc and if its too good to be true....it AINT TRUE! Even bank checks should be CLEARED and FUNDS FULLY AVAILABLE before letting merchandise or "car" leave your possession as scammers are raising their level of sophistication. I have some very CREATIVE torture ideas for these guys when they're caught and it aint pretty. I had TWO PPIs before I bought my IM6 to make certain that all wave lengths were in sync but then again I hate to piss away huge dollars on plastic.
