Hi All,

Trying to track down some air-mixing/cooling issues and am wondering about what has been done to my car relative to the cooling fan.  My car has an A-1 Sidewinder exhuast so there are no heat exchangers so no hoses coming from the fan housing going down through the tinware in front of the engine.  The outlets on the fan have been blocked and there are holes where the hoses should go through underneath.  Should I just block these (cut some sheetmetal and screw in)or should I put hoses on to direct air underneath?

The other question:  Does the Sidewinder make things hotter or cause extra heat because of its design.  It looks cool and sounds cool but I'd rather the engine actually be cool if you know what I mean.

Thanks,  Frank

I used pop rivets to plug holes.  I spent many hours totally sealing engine bay.  GOt a 4 X 8 sheet of sheet metal already painted and tin snips.  Someone else here suggested Home Dep for rubber insulation with adhesive.  I drove all day in 90F and engine oil never got over 180F.  I am tickled tho I woujld have been happier if CMC had provided real tin.

Right you are Al.  The horns on the shroud are plugged but everyone is right here. I'll plug the lower holes and any other areas.  I thought maybe air hoses from the shroud might send cooling air below but I think it would fall too far back to do any good.  It might also decrease cooling air going to the heads...that's why the horns are blocked off.
Thanks to all for suggestions and happy motoring this weekend,
Frank
