That's Pearl in one of her more levitated moments......When her Mach-V Flux Capacitor was really cookin'......
IMHO.....A too-deep-dished Fuchs (or almost any other wheel) might begin to look a little, ahhhhh, CMC-ish. By that I mean that having wheels that are really dished deep on a Speedster begin to look less Porsche-like and more dune buggy like. This can be compensated for by running all-chrome wheels to avoid the dark, tunnel-like look of deeply dished wheels. Again, this is my opinion and not necessarily the common opinion on here.
That said, I'm running 7" wide rims on Pearl and going to 8" wide on Scarlet, the new build (Kathy named her), but I don't yet know what the dish dimensions are so don't yet know what (or if) I'll need for spacers.
I don't have a patent on Fuchs wheels on here, either. Several other cars are running them (Dale Bates, if you want a Black car example) but not necessarily as low as Pearl.
That brings up another problem.....If you run wide and get close to the fender inner lips you quickly run out of vertical clearance to the underside of the body, above the outer edge of the tires. This can be compensated for with coil-overs on the shocks (if you want to remain down in the weeds) but there aren't too many tricks to use there.
I'm also a BIG proponent of polished spokes and color-matched backgrounds - I just think they look really cool. Check the difference between all-black and polished spokes in the pictures below. Next change will probably be to change the backgrounds to pearl white. She's also sitting about 3/4" lower than the pic on the right, now, and I think she's sitting just about right.
What do you folks think??
