Thanks guys. I've decided to go with 195 x 60s all the way around. The 195s will just fit. I'm going with Yokohama AVS ES100s. Other choice was Pirelli P6000s 195 x 65s. The difference between 65s and 60s is about 100 rpm with my gear ratio. I will get my speedo calibrated , as soon as I find someplace to do it. It's already 10 mph out at 70 mph. I thought of going with 16 inch rims, but I couldn't find a high performance tire in a 195 x 16 and anything wider would rub.

Ron, North hollywood Speedometer or Palo Alto Speedometer can recalibrate your speedo. You can either take a rolling measurement per their instructions or just tell them it's for a 1966 VW with front wheel speedo drive and 195/60 tires. Palo Alto did my new instruments and I just told them the tire size.
