My 10+ yr old VS has new Nankang 145 R15 78S tires and I don't do much hwy driving. Vintage lists 165 65 R15 @22psi. Are the tires I have ok and is 22psi right for them?
I would think 2-4 more lbs. in the back tires would do it. How does it drive the way it is? Take some chalk, mark a band across the tread, drive a short distance and look at the wear pattern. Al
The VW Beetle was 18 PSI Front, 27 Rear all the way up until they quit making them in 2003. The Speedster weight distribution isn't much different from that. Too much pressure in the front can make the steering rather squirrely. But some people prefer it that way.
