Lots of touring  tires are still available in 185/65/15. Copy this link: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...o=65&diameter=15

You can then select/deselect brand, speed rating, etc. I first deselect everything, then just click on one category at a time. If you select high performance A/S you only get three choices, all H speed rated, a Firestone, a Sumitomo, and a Yokohama. I would recommend the Yoko or the Sumi, I've never been a fan of Firestone. The Sumitomo are very inexpensive, other two are similarly priced.

Also for a little more aggressive there is this:  http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...05VR5S&tab=Sizes

But these have a shorter sidewall, 185/55/15.

Really sticky tires are available, but expect to pay 1000 to 1200 a set.

Yes, there are lots of tires still available in a 185/65 size, but they are far from performance tires.

Of course, it depends on how one drives their speedster replica.  Many of the tires available on the Tire Rack's website would be fine for just tooling around town and cruising on the highway, but if you want to hit a few apexes on a winding highway they will quickly show their lack of grip.

I wish the RE960s were still available.  I have these on my IM and really like them.  S-Drives are nice too, but as Danny mentioned, 185/55 may be too short for most of us.
