Hey fellas, I just built a black Perry Spyder 550 a few months ago. It came out beautiful! In the process, I found out I was going to be a daddy, which meant that the car had to go. I offered it for sell, and the offers were close, but no closure on any deals. Anyway, during the process, I took a liking to the 356. So, wife and I were talking about us keeping the Spyder, but I am considering trading it for a 356. What do you guys think? Should I trade it or not? Would anyone be interested in a trade like that? Any advice appreciated.

David, the Speedster has a small seat in the back but for all purposes it's considered a two seater. If the reason for selling the Spyder was because the baby couldn't ride in it; things won't change if you trade it in for a Speedster. As Lambros said, follow your heart on that one.
Thanks fellas. The back seat was an appeal, but if it doesn't hold a baby seat, then it really doesn't matter on that point. I have too much of my dad in me. Neither of us ever keeps a car very long, before something else catches our eye. That only applies to cars, not women. I love my wife. In fact, the whole purpose of getting a Porsche Spyder/Speedster was for us to ride around together. Thanks for the advice.
ANother thought. WHen I had wee ones I drove 911s. Two car seats in back, the kiddo cage squeezed behind the seat, and the navigator riding shotgun. For the kind of money a 356 Replicar will cost you a later vintage Carrera Cabrio can be gotten. 84-89 may be the best all around Pcar ever pound for pound, buck for buck.
But of course unless you do your own maintenance it can be spendy. But you could always (shameless commercialism here) get a Porsche tune-up DVD @
