Took delivery this morning of my Speedster. It is gorgeous and runs fantastic! As the driver pulls up and opens the back of the trailer, he first pulls off a bright red Ferrari 575M and my son says...dad - why didnt we get that one! He is 6 and apparently doesnt know the value of a dollar!

Question of the day. What do I do with the top when I put it down and put the back tonneau on. it is not a full tonneau, only covers the back. I dont want to start unsnapping things without know what I am getting into. Do I just unsnap the top and snap the tonneau in place and leave the top in the back or do you all pull it out all the way and put it up on a shelf? Either way, I am not concerned at this point about rain as I live in Florida and for the next 3 months it wont rain or I wont take the car out.

Thoughts?

Todd

Todd,

Your call but you should be able to unsnap the 2 or 3 latches on the top of the windshield frame, unsnap the back of the top and neatly fold the top into the rear seat area. As Wolfgang said, be careful you don;t kink teh rear window. Your tonneau should be able to cover the folded top. Probably easier than detaching the top and reinstalling if/when you need it.
Todd.
On a Vintage, the top will not stick-up above the body or interfer with your vision when it is folded down and the tonneau is on. I recommend that you keep it right where it's at and use the straps that Marty mentioned. Be sure the window is not kinked. Taking it off is easy, but it does require removing the bolts from within the wheel well and I just don't see a reason for it unless you need a little more room for luggage, which has never been the case for my 18,000 miles of driving.
