Before my new RSK arrives in Nov. I've been wandering what kind of basic tool kit I should carry in the car, and what breaking in problems should I expect for the first couple of thousand miles? I plan on going to El Cajon to TR to put about 300-500 miles on it before I ship it back.

I carry a basic socket set, basic set of combination wrenches, allen wrenches, basic screwdriver set, channel locks, snips, standard and needles-nose pliers, wrench for the generator pulley nut, a set of valve cover gaskets, fan belt, distributor cap, rotor, two spark plugs, some light gauge wire, zip ties, tube of silicone sealant, tire repair kit (No spare), and a shop manual...Oh, and a cell phone to call a tow truck when I discover that the one tool I needed is laying on the bench in my shop.
Carry an odds-n-end assortment of handtools, a rag to clean up, some wire, heavy guage that can be used as a jumper or to tie something together, jumper cables and A TRIPLE AAA card!!

Always remember to smile and wave at people. Be nice. Build good Karma. If the car quits running in a busy intersection, nice people will hop out and push it across to safety!
