Tool Registry?

I just ordered a lash cap puller at a cost of about $70 and will probably only use it once.

It might be useful if we could maintain a list of tools we all are willing to loan.

Also, all may not be aware that Aircooled.net rents some tools. I have used this twice.

Thought Autozone and Advance Auto loaned or rented specialty tools? I personally hate to loan tools out - they seem to not make it back until I physically go to pick them up. That said I appreciate the loan of the tonneau snap crimper tool from CRHEMI (aka Dos Totillas).

It's even worse when your kids borrow your tools and then they suddenly become their tools!!

Down here, I have a sign-out sheet on the side of my tool chest - what went out, when, and to whom (and a phone number). That way I can call and bug 'em mercilessly when it's way over due. Otherwise I would probably forget and spend days looking for something that isn't even here.

I just noticed my smiley face is missing.

Gordon, it'd take me longer than days to look. I end up going out and buying another. That's why I KNOW I have at least 6 caulking guns. I know this. But this past weekend think I could find one? Nope.

As a kid after working on my bicycle, I use to leave my Dad's tools in the grass so that he could "find them" when mowing......
BTW, I also ran track in HS :)

Brian - Like the rest of us, you probably put all six caulking guns in a place where you could find them when you needed them! :-)
