I have a conv D with a hard top and a soft top.  I use hard top all winter and switch to soft top in summer.  However, I really don't drive the car when it is raining.  I rarely put the soft top up.  I also hate the look of the conv top down with the boot cover on.  The speedster has a much cleaner look when top is down.  In my conv D the area in the back where the carpet meets the rear deck is not trimmed out so it looks bad with the tops off.  I plan on going completely topless in the summer.  My 2 options are to find someone who is willing to trim out the area around the rear deck or to fit a speedster top boot.  I'm not sure the hardtop will fit with the trim work.  My questions are:

1.  Is the rear deck of my car exactly like a speedster?  Will a speedster top boot fit my car?  Does the top boot fit completely flat in a speedster?

2.  What is the distance of the fasteners from the opening of the rear deck.  If anyone has a picture that would be appreciated.  I have to make sure the fasteners are outside of where the hardtop will sit in the winter.

3.  Is there a lot of buffeting at high speeds from the top boot.  I may have more buffeting since the folded top will not be present.

I have included a picture of my car with hard top on.

Thanks

Phil

I'll answer to the best of my abiility

1) As far as I know, the decks are the same.  The speedster tonneau is flat.  I imagine a Speedster tonneau would fit

2)  I would recommend a tonneau without fasteners and custom fit it to your desired fastener location.

3) Buffeting not a big issue.  Doubt that not having a top underneath would make much difference.

An added thought.  I like the full tonneau.  I usually only open the driver's side and it keeps the dust out in the garage and the bird poop out when I park it somewhere.  It also helps keep the interior cool and discourages prying eyes and people tossing stuff into the car.

And if a sudden storm pops up while you're parked it does a really good job of keeping the water out.

Yes.  I have spoken with Henry about building me a cowl cover to cover where the rear deck meets the passenger compartment.  This would be made of both hard plastic and interior colored cloth and would be clamped into place with the clamps that are used to hold the soft top and hard top in place. I could also dismantle my current soft top and use the pieces.  However, I would like to keep the soft top intact for resale. Creating a new rear cowl cover would look the best and could be easily removed in the winter.  This BY FAR is the most expensive option.
