Good to find this site.
I have had a kit for about 5 years. I'm still not done with car though car was running when I bought it. I took car to local upolstry shop not knowing I could have ordered top and tonaue via Vintage or I'm sure other makers. Kirk at VS thinks my kit may be a Classic Motor Carraige kit. I did not ask him if they are still in business. Do any of you have this car? The upolstry shop has had my car since June and they still do not have it figured out. They first claimed that the bows were bent. When we stopped by in August the top was on but had real bad crease in it. The called and said they were done last week. Come get car. We show up and top will not fold down as they now have hardware on backwards. It hits the
engine hood release as you try and put top down. Did they think no one would notice. Kirk was good enough to fax me a picture of what the hardware should look like in place. Its only one of two ways it can work. Am I missing something here? Is there any other hints here. Did they not stretch it right when they put the snaps into the material? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you talking Velcro where the curtain meets the top? Yours has wood pegs that are attached to curtain and then go into holes in door panel? That is what the guy told me from Vintage. He said that I could buy the curtains from him as well as some item that I assume caps the top of the door then re-drill the peg holes so they work with his curtain? Am I picturing that right? The system that I have (that never has been on car) is a rigid piece of plexi-glass
with a hard piece of rubber where it meets door and it is held there by 2 metal pegs that go into door. I'm missing pegs for 1 side. Most of the pics you see do not have any curtains in VS site is the first time I have seen an option.

I thought I'd put a velcro inside the front of the side curtin and its mate on the piece of the top (flap for lack of a better word) inside. When it is snapped to the widshield frame, it should be taut enough to hold the front edge in out of the airstream.
I am going to have to adjust the top where it folds around the fiberglass windshield bow. The glue seems to be bonding well but I think I can loosen and reglue the outside edges about 5 inches in on both sides. The top is not stretched as tight as I would like it at those points.

Hey Ed
I surfed this site a bit more and have seen another post about the tops. Alot of comments about noise and wind flap. I never did try my old top in up posistion with car moving. I'm sure I will have adjustments to make when I get the car back. What your saying makes
since. I will research more of curtain options. Someone commented about a plexi sliding unit for the Speedsters? I need some time to check with more people on the site about it. Let me know how your system works out.
