I had enough of my faded top,it turned purple! It was OK but I imagined what my car would look like with a BLUE top!lol
This top is the one that is included with Beck speedsters,and was once a nice navy blue. Here is the products which I scored from www.convertibletoprenew.com
I looked around and they had the best price for product & shipping!
Here is what I bought and used.
You just have to follow the directions,and Bob at convertibletoprenew unexpectedly threw in some extras,which was very cool,it consisted of a 3"paintbrush/3 lint free towels/and a hand scrubber to clean the top with. The instructions that come with it are very concise & clear,and here are some pictures of the process..
The "purple" top
Here is tghe taping up,I thought I wuold need just a little bit of tape..
Here is the 1st coat
Here is the 2nd coat,if you noticed,the car is totally covered with newspaper,since I discovered that it is very hard to remove from the paint if it splashes and it WILL,I found little specks EVERYWHERE,and it was a PITA to remove,so follow my advice and REALLY paper it up WELL,you will thank me later,this stuff is like paint overspray,and almost as hard to remove! I also got a couple small specks on the seats,and some I have not yet been able to remove,so be careful the brush will splatter the dye all over.
Here is the 3rd and last coat just after application
And finally,the finished product;
