Top up with no side curtains

I have heard that if you run at hwy speeds and you dont have at least the passenger curtain up, a top will unsnap. I havent tried it with both down. Whats the general consensis on this?

i haven't had any problems, although i do question the strength of those clips as i approach 80-90mph either way...

I ran quite a way with the drivers side curtain out, no problem. I have driven a few times with both out and no problem, never heaard this being a problem either.

I have driven with top up and no side curtains and have hit 75-80 mph with no issues.

Mine rides better with curtains on....I also question strength of front clamps with no curtains, at high speed.....

Where's Paul Harford on this????
I remember his top blowing off and flapping in the wind once last year......

I've tried running around with both out, but never got to turnpike speeds (and I was watching it like a Hawk all the time!!!)

I'm also planning on adding a third latch somewhere near the middle (the center strut is in the way, so it'll be off-center) sometime later this Summer, even though I've been up well over 90 with both side curtains in and nothing blew off (I didn't even think about it!!). I just feel that only two latches make it inherently weaker.

These cars have tops?

I drive 70 all the time with top up and side curtins out with no problems at all!!! Just make sure you have a nice tight fit....you sould'nt have any problems!! Michael

No problems with mine either.(knock on wood)..
