I dunno why, but today it was hot out, and I was seeking refuge in the shade of the garage. Having nothing else to do, I naturally was attracted to the open engine bay on speedy.

I remembered about five years ago that some set screws on the throttle linkage got loose and the carb actuating arms came adrift. So just for jollies, I decided to check the throttle linkage. Holy crap, the cable actuating arm set screw was loose! It wouldn't take too long for an unwanted offset in alignment would saw the cable in half. A quick application of a handy allen wrench made everything right again.

Does this prove that there are larger forces at work in the speedster universe? Or did I just luck out?
