There is a new boutique hotel in town as well, The Becket. It is part of the Joie de vive chain. Not on the water but very nice. I will be happy to work the Hotel angle if you would like.

Okay, so the hotel is available for the weekend of September 8-11. I'm working on room rates and amenities. Last time (2015) we had a poolside reception as well as a no host bar. This stuff costs money. The room rates have gone up significantly as has the water level in Tahoe. I need to know who is planning on coming, aside from those who have already chimed in. What was the itinerary again Terry? Drive to Auburn on Friday, drive to Lake Tahoe and back to Auburn on Saturday, head home Sunday?

We'll have a BBQ Thursday, 9/8, either at my house or at Anthony's shop, for those who want to start the tour Friday morning from Auburn. There are several local hotels available for Thursday night. We'll head up to Tahoe, via the beautiful foothills back roads and have lunch in Truckee or Tahoe City before moving on to the hotel located in South Shore. Informal gathering around the pool Friday afternoon before heading off to one of the many restaurants close by. Saturday will offer many choices: from boat tours on the lake, hiking and, of course, touring around the lake. We'll all get together for a group dinner at a nice restaurant Saturday night. We'll head back Sunday at our leisure or a group drive back to Auburn. 

More details will develop as we move forward with the planning. Stay tuned...

Michelle and I may be there at that time, maybe not. It is two weeks from the start of our US tour, we're leaving NY the last Saturday in August. So maybe?

And they might be on the wrong feet! 

Nancy says we'll be there Terry. And if there is one thing I've learned in the last 32 years it is that what Nancy wants, Nancy gets.

I just checked the calendar Terry and that Thursday in September 2017 is the 7th. That means the TDH would officially be September 8th and 9th, possibly the 10th if people stay another night.

You're right, Robert. Fortunately the hotel is still available and the barbecue will still take place on Thursday. Unfortunately, the 18k gold napkin rings for the BBQ  have the wrong date on them...

Terry,  I am still shooting for making the drives, and Friday night pool party hangout.  I will not be staying in Tahoe though.  Let me know if funds are needed for pool party.  I might get Brian and Janine to joins us again also.

We are having this event. It will happen the weekend of September 8-11. People will come.

More activity will happen right after the West Coast Gathering in SLO. If you're bored and retired you can help with organizing this event.

Pencil me in - still need to confirm with the wifey (aka CEO), but we enjoyed the WCC and I might be able to make a "camping trip" out of this event. Nothing like Ryan hanging a cot in the middle of a vineyard though... but close... LOL!

I mentioned this to a few people at the WCC, but if anyone wants to pass by Travis AFB on the 7th I can arrange a C-5M "Super Galaxy" tour. The closer we get to the date I'll ask again if anyone wants to partake 

PS. If you don't know what a C-5M is... it's only the biggest aircraft in the US Air Force inventory 

You'll load all the Speedsters in it?

That one will be a no go, but I'll be able load a whole bunch of speedster drivers 

@Rick99GSX, if you ever fly into McClellen, I can be there with appropriate tarmac to destination chauffeuring. I have runway experience.

That would be awesome, Brian! We are towing our Speedster. You can caravan with us to NorCal! 

I'm in for the Tahoe trip. Why do get the feeling there may be hazing involved? Jk

I have reserved 10 rooms at the Beach Retreat & Lodge Tahoe, the same hotel we stayed at 2 years ago. I'll post when you can start booking your rooms - should be in a day or so. They can add more rooms if needed, depending on availability. Noel is making arrangements for our Saturday dinner. Anyone who has some thoughts on planning the weekend is encouraged to contact me via PM or my email: tpnuckels@aol.com 

I'd like to get a head count for rooms ASAP. We're close enough to the event for you to know if you can make it, so no "maybe". You're either with us or you're not.

Sacto and Mrs. Sacto are, like, totally down for this.

In fact, we had a wedding at Tahoe this weekend and stayed at the Beach Retreat & Lodge.

Most of the damage from the last SOC bash there has been repaired. It's amazing what some paint, landscaping, and a few hundred cubic yards of reinforced concrete can cover up.

Question:   Has the water reached the patio doors yet?  It would be nice to step out of my room and right into the lake or pull a boat up to the back door..
