Alright, time to get busy.

Tour d' Hoe is less than two months away. The event will kick off with a barbecue at Casa de Nuckelhead in Auburn on Thursday, September 10.The drive to Lake Tahoe will start in Auburn on Friday morning, Sept. 11 and wind through the Sierra Foothills to South Shore to our host hotel, where we'll be greeted in style with a poolside reception. Saturday will be a day for driving around the lake, with many sightseeing options available on self-guided tours - more on that later. Saturday night will be a casual dinner in a private room at a local favorite restaurant and then off to bed or hit the casinos. Sunday morning offers a tour down the other side of the foothills through Truckee, Nevada City, Grass Valley and back down to Auburn. This, of course, is optional and for those who just can't get enough of this beautiful area.

The barbecue and the organized Friday drive are optional as I know some of you can't get away for that extra day. Maybe you can't make the barbecue but you can make the Friday drive? That's cool as well. More info will be coming soon.

Noel Farmer has busted his butt getting us the best hotel and restaurant for this crazy group. Speaking of the hotel; we have a new one as the first hotel didn't really fit. There will be more info on the new hotel coming soon and those who have already booked at the Lakeside Inn and Casino will need to cancel their reservations. Sorry about that, but I promise you won't be disappointed.

We need a head count of who's coming so we can get the best rate possible. We need it ASAP! Please respond here if you're coming. I don't care if you responded on another thread - this is the one that counts. Please do this now. If you're a maybe, please state that. If you're planning on sharing a room with another member, please state that so we don't have duplicates, okay.

This will be a trip to remember, people.

Look, the room rate and restaurant are dependent on the number of people coming. A lot of time and effort goes into planning this as well.

So...can I get some response? Need it quick!

For now, put us down for a "Yes". The Pierson persons will be flat towing the car. Not sure where we'll be leaving the tow vehicle. Possibly at chez Nuckels, possibly in Cool or Pilot Hill.

DEAR TERRY NUCKLES ESQ (circa 1977)

As you know I do not "Kowtow" to peer pressure of any sort.  These strict demands that you are placing on us is not only unfair but in violation of SOC code 381-617Z which states:  " NO EVENT COORDINATOR  SHALL HARASS, BRIBE OR APPLY PRESSURE OF ANY MAGNITUDE TO ATTEND SUCH SAID EVENT OR EVENTS THAT ORIGINATE FROM THE PRESSUROR TO THE PRESSUREE'S."

SO with that said  I will be attending tour d' Hoe.. I'll be Driving my mistress (MS JILL) up on Wednesday night and will be attending the BBQ at the NUCKLE MANSION Thursday evening.. I will be staying nearby in luxury accommodations in which I am accustom.

 Okay, people, here it is!
This is the place where we'll be staying on 9/11-13:

Standard rooms will be $159 plus taxes. This is a fantastic rate as it is still the high season and a weekend. This includes a Friday afternoon poolside reception with hors d’ oeuvres and a no host bar. We will also have reserved parking for our group by the pool. Way to go, Noel!

Upgrades to water view and beach front are also available at $20/40.00 per night additional cost. Regardless of how many times you have been to Lake Tahoe I would still suggest the upgrades. Andie insists on a lake view room and it's a small price to pay to have her in my right seat.

For the uninitiated, Lake Tahoe is the second highest navigable lake in the world. The second deepest in the USA and the 7th deepest in the world. The water is 99.9% pure. If it were never to rain or snow again it would take 850 years for the Lake to evaporate. The only water in the Lake comes from rain and snow. The Lake's only outlet is the Truckee River that flows into the NV desert to Pyramid Lake. Thus it is the only river in the USA that does not flow to the Ocean or at least is not supposed to.

The Hotel has full breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a nice pool.

Saturday dinner will be at the hotel so no worries about drinking and driving!

The Fine Print:

We have guaranteed 15 rooms. Plenty more are available as long as you book early. However. if a participant cancels after Sept 1st, they will be responsible for 1 nights accommodations and it will be charged to their credit cards. No exceptions. This is the only way we could get the special rate and service.

DO NOT CALL YET!    Noel still needs to obtain our group code which he will post when he receives it, probably Monday, 7/27

Check out the hotel website and drool, people! This is going to be fun!

THE PHONE LINES ARE OPEN

Operators are standing by to accept you reservations.

I am looking forward to seeing y'all at Beautiful Lake Tahoe during the perfect time of year.

Your room block has been created and your block code is: 150911SPEE.  Members of your group will be able to make reservations by calling our reservation desk at 800-972-8558 and mentioning this code.   Please note, reservations must be made by Wednesday, August 12th.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

If you need more details on the hotel below is the direct link. Also this hotel was remodeled in the last couple of years so it is very nice of course right on the Beach

Don't forget to ask for the room upgrades to water view or on the beach.

The water is warm and there is lot's of beach. This is about the only Lake in CA that has water and we have 1600 ft deep kind of water.

See you there.

Hey, Les! I understand that you're driving up with the Ignacio's and the Smith's. I hope that means you're coming to the barbecue as well. Awesome! If you're looking for a place to stay Thursday night I recommend the Holiday Inn in Auburn: http://www.auburnhi.com

That's where Teby is staying and where the drive will begin on Friday.

Make sure you ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel from Teby...

Yes Les    After reading the Terry Nuckles "trash a hotel room like a rock star"  guide book (circa 1978 co written by joe Walsh from the Eagles )  It might be wise advice

love those holiday inns

Hey Terry  you don't have a chainsaw I can borrow Thursday night,  do you?
