DAMN!!!!

I should be out there wit'chu!  Be great to meet Paul and get a chance to see my cinegraphic brutha, MUSBJIM again, as well as a whole bunch of you "other coasters".

Guess I'll have to make up for it by going to the Lime Rock Raceway "Historics Weekend" over labor day.  Not quite sure how to compare Danny P. and Lenny C. To you left coasters, tho.......

It is with a mix of anger and sadness that I must tell you all I will not be able to attend this years event..

I was looking soooooo forward to an escape from my corporate world but its now denied my ability to attend... today it has hit me hard and I have been in the worst mood ever..  Not even a keg of Guinness and 4 hot Asian girls could cheer me up....

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend..  I'll miss all of you I know and I'll miss the people I would have met..

With Sincere sadness,

Tebs

The weather looks to be very nice.  Unfortunately Nancy and I had to cancel due to work obligations. Next year.

Nice variety of cars there.  Of course there are the beautiful Speedsters, I think I see a Ghia there, I believe that's a 240Z, the Spyder (BTW he has a license plate for a commercial vehicle on it), and a nice early 1911.  What year is it?

Have a great time.

We had a great time with all of you guys and gals. I would post the pictures here but they are rather large so instead I will give you guys a link. feel free to download as many as you like. Wish I've taken more but there's always next time! There is one caveat, I will not be responsible for any "memes" that might pop out from club members . Hope you like them and see you again soon.

Pulled into the homestead about 4 PM, 81/2 hour trip home with stops for the obvious reasons.

First, I want to thank Terry & Andie for a great Thursday BBQ, Andie is a jewel to be sure....I hope she will join us in the future for our annual meet so some of the others can meet her, thanks again Andie...

The Nor. Cal. SOCers are a great group to cruise & party with, thanks to all of you, I had a really good time.

Jimbo, I love you....

One of the things I discovered was that drinking large amounts of scotch at 6200 feet works faster than at sea level...Who knew.....

I will post a link to the pic's I took later this evening or tomorrow

Sally and I stayed for an extra day and started it off with breakfast at the Red Hut Waffle Shop.  Then drove over Kingsbury Grade, (7,344 feet above sea level, but the car ran great) down into Nevada for some shopping in Carson City.  Then returned via Hwy  50 back to Tahoe to enjoy dinner and a beautiful sunset at the Boathouse Resturant on the pier at the hotel.  We are now relaxing at the fire pit with a bottle of wine.
Wonderful trip!20150913_14145720150913_14162420150913_13213320150913_18322722520

Vinnie, now that is really funny! I just about choked on my orange juice...

I discovered the same thing with red wine, celebrating the last day of skiing (Victoria Day long weekend, 3rd weekend in May) at Whistler, picnicking at 7,000 ft. with Beth and the people we skied with. It's not good to be falling down while trying to ski out. 5,000 ft. in elevation is a long way on ski runs...

And great pics, guys! If someone else has more, please post away. I can put names to a few of the cars (Troy, Terry, Jim, Larry, and Rick has the Spyder, and I don't know what Vinnie rolled in since I don't see the pink Miata) but if someone wanted to put names to the rest of them I (and I'm sure others) would appreciate it. Wow! Where to start?

What a great turnout! It's always nice to see locals show up but we had people from Washington State (Scott Sloan), Nevada (Stephen Romero, Brian and Jeannine). We had a great turnout from the southern part of the state as well as   Troy and Sally from Fresno. We had cars ranging from Larry's Mendeola equipped CMC to Ricky and Vanessa's Vintage Spider. Vintage and IM and JPS, oh my! Dave and Betsy Mitchell and "Oscar", the 1970 911 hot rod. Joel and Christina Schlotz with their bitchin' 240 Z. And my favorite, Dale and Michele Bates in their 1968 Karmen Ghia.

Thanks to all of you who showed up at the barbecue. Andie and I had so much fun having you all here. Thanks Scott and Dale for grilling, Pam and John for helping set up and all of you who were kind enough to bring some tasty treats with you.

The Friday tour wouldn't have happened without the time and effort put in by Mitch and Kathy Toll. Lunch at Mel's in Placerville was great and the tour up through the Sierra Foothills was perfect! Special kudos go out to Rusty Smith. Rusty, you are a stand up guy! When Les and Lee Munson's beautiful IM stopped running, you were on it in a flash and doing whatever needed to be done. Thanks for taking the grease on, buddy!

The lodging and reception couldn't have been better, thanks to Noel Farmer. Noel, thanks for taking this task on and doing such a marvelous job with the planning and negotiations. The tri-tip sliders at the cocktail party were delicious.

The Saturday tour around the lake was laid out by Dale Bates. Dale, thanks for giving us so many options and explaining how such a large group would not be able to travel together. I get it, "We're not a parade because we don't have a tuba".

Finally, I want to thank my wife, Andie. There is no better person for hosting an event than my beautiful right-seater. Andie had a great time seeing old friends and meeting so many new ones! She can't wait to see you all again.

An event can only be a success if the participants make it one. This bunch of like-minded enthusists is the kindest, warmest, friendliest and generous group of people I have ever encountered.

Long live the SOC!

Lee and I made it home last night at 7:30.  What a great weekend.

Many thanks to all who worked to make this a great time - especially to Terry and Andie who opened up their beautiful home on Thursday evening.

I would also like to thank the whole group for their support and wisdom during my unannounced tour event during the last leg of our drive to Lake Tahoe. I was soon back on the road and had no problems the rest of the weekend.

It was nice meeting you all and we are looking forward to seeing you at the next event.

Les and Lee Munson
