Nah, it's a no-wood firepit, but he indicated he'd be ok with a wood one if we cleaned up after ourselves.
Well if everyone wants to go the wood route and get a pit at Lowes, I can get some wood together tomorrow.
Of course we'll clean up afterwards. I can bring some 5 gallon buckets for the ashes and haul them off.
We'll see what the group wants.

Yeah, clean up behind yourselves, just like when you guys go to Burning Man.
But, definitely the wood firepit.
Swing by Lowes and get 6 concrete blocks ($18) turning the end ones for ventilation.

The group wants wood. Thanks, Carlos.

Not sure of anyone else's experience with using plain concrete blocks for a fire pit but I've seen them explode.
Oh-tay!! Fire in the hold!! or in the pit, or in the cinder blocks. I could bring some wood, as have plenty. Also a couple of chairs. On the road in the AM, looking at the horizon thing Stan mentioned. Which is to say all day on I81. Whoopee!! I recall a PP&M song about 500 miles ...

Personally, I'd prefer we burn styrofoam but I'll take what I can get.
Im still down to throw money in.
burn styrofoam?? isn't that what you put in your electric hooka?
Most of you have now arrived in Brevard, and silence on the site........?
I thought coffee would keep ya going, tyres inflated, tanks full, batteries charged, and smelling like.........oh well, 4 outa 5 ain't bad.
See ya Saturday.
...they burned styrofoam...
And they were all sitting downwind….

There absolutely is a story.
Pretty quiet from the "Smo" front.
I wonder if they all got caught for egregious speeding and all ended up in the slammer.
I also wonder if the jailers let them have their fire pit. 🤔

"Nobody knows, the roads where I've been
Engine screaming and rubber squealing.
The Cops shut us down and impounded our cars
We'll get out in time for Thanksgiving....."

It's obvious they're out driving not typing. I'm sure we'll get the updates at the end of the day when the driving is done.
Maybe the Sheriff will allow them a laptop…

They may have to smuggle a cell phone into the jail via their "prison" wallet.
@Robert M had it right. We were too busy drivin' and (later) drinkin' to fiddle with computers.
Another one in the books, folks. Weather was fantastic - a little hot Wednesday and Thursday, but clear, with much cooler temps for the rest of the weekend. @Carlos G did his usual masterful job on the routes and also used his considerable talents on the lunch and dinner venues, all of which were first rate. We had quite a variety of cars including 3 Speedsters, 4 Spyders, a Coupe, a Cayman, two 911s, a Camaro ZL1, a C5 Z06 Corvette, a C8 Corvette, a late 70's 280Z, and our hotel host joined us in a BMW M550i for the Rattler run. We had the usually few mechanical issues: Stan had a suspension failure after hitting a big pothole that caught several of us by surprise (the remainder of the first family of Stanistan's trip will be titled "Plains, Trains, and Automobiles Part Deux"), Kelly had a wheel bearing issue halfway through the last run (Blue Ridge Pkwy cruise), but made it back to the hotel safely, and I had an issue with a window again. Sounds like a typical Carlisle, doesn't it?
I used the trailer I bought from @DannyP worked well for getting the Coupe home behind my wife's Outback. It's turned out be a great all-around car. (I even figured out the easy way to disable the RAB nanny!!) With help from the guys I got the car on the trailer and had a surprisingly pleasant drive home. Sometimes it's relaxing to putter along in the right lane at 60-70.
We had some conversations about next year's event. While we love the Brevard location, we don't want it to get stale, so we may alternate between there and another location. Northern Georgia and southwestern Virginia have come up, but its hard to beat having a local to set things up.
Lots of folks have posted pics in the FB group. More to come over the next couple of days here and on FB.

I particularly like the second one, @Carlos G.

Of course you do.....
93 octane was burned. Tires were burned. Wood was burned. A certain camper was not burned, except in the hearts of every driver in line. Cars were broken. Laws were broken.
We came. We saw. We drove pretty fast. We ate, we drank, we made merry.
Twas excellent.
A few pics to make you sorry you didn't go
Our hotel host joined us for the Rattler Run, along with his 14 year old son, in this beauty.
The man. The Myth. The legend himself applying his many charms on a couple of the ladies.
Carlos' son Jim joined us in his rolling restored 280Z.
No, Danny didn't drive his truck on the runs. A couple of the roads might not have been wide enough.
Part of the MEOC (Mid-Engined Owners Club). I swear none of us made those donuts. We were responsible citizens. Honest!!!!

And a few more...Tom Boney's new C8 Corvette. He may have sold a few more after letting Stan and Danny drive it.
Cory and Jeni's SUV identified as a Ford GT40 for the cruise. Only way top keep up.
Yes, that's actually Mike Fincher. He snuck away from @chines1 to have a little fun. Pretty sure he'll be back. The guy in the red shirt talking to him is a buddy of mine from all the way back in the 9th grade who joined us last year as well. His name is Kelly, so to tell him a part from Kelly Frazer we named him Kelly2, which then evolved into "The Deuce".

I’m up for anything but nothing beats the Smo. I particularly liked Brevard. Beautiful town with something for everyone. The other restaurants were also fantastic including the Old Horse Station at the end of the Rattler.
It would have been nice if the hotel outdoor area was nicer. The parking lot was a bit small. But all in all the best Smokies trip I’ve ever been on including many prior bike trips. I think Brevard and the Smokies in general will be tough to beat.
Good for you guys!!!
Anyone wonder where the pallet went?

A few of my favorite pics from the weekend.
And a few kick butt roads I drove after I continued south to FL. I did not get on the highway until we got to the top of Florida.

I'll come next year and bring an old corroded magnesium VW engine case. The space station should see the light from that baby burning!
Meanwhile, this past Saturday on the Tail of the Dragon:
@Marty Grzynkowicz None of those photos showed up. Sorry. And where in FL is the "Southern Grzynkowicz Villa"?
So I'm lookin' at this with @Carlos G and his fans....
And all I can hear in my head is this:

Part of that route was going to be on the "after lunch" part of the Deliverance Run, but I shortened it due to Stan's car not being 100%
I'm glad you chose to go the back way to Floriduh. The I-26 and I-95 corridor really sucks.
