Due to the uncertainty and social instability resulting from ongoing events, the Tour de Smo’ is cancelled. Maddie and I appreciate all who showed interest and wished to attend. Perhaps 2021 will allow us to revisit the concept.

went on a few.... nice format ,scenery, people, beautiful drive,,times are a changing...maybe next year
Smart move, Ron. Alice and I hope this will happen next year. Can we all agree that the virus really sucks??
The virus is similar to the flu in the sense that it disproportionately hits those who are already compromised, whether due to age or other medical conditions. However, it appears to spread easier. The solution is to isolate the vulnerable and to allow herd immunity to progress in everyone else. However, the virus has become the latest political tool to achieve long held political goals. Government says we will fight nature and will prevail! Riiiighhht.
Then we have the riots. While the political necessity of the virus response will soon be gone, either Trump or Biden will win the election, the rioting is here for good for the long haul. The Marxists have been emboldened and the message of the Democratic Party is “we are 100% behind you”. Silence from the Republican Party says “we’re scared and hope you will just go away”.
I am pessimistic that law abiding citizens will be able to travel across this country anytime soon believing that their property and personal well being will be safe from the mob, and that local jurisdictions will support their right to defend themselves.
i hope I’m wrong
Sadly, Ed and I just posted our Carlisle event cancellation too.
That's why God made Zoom. Still have Carlisle virtually. Get a folding chair, cooler, and a laptop. Go sit next to your car and chat, have a sip, rinse repeat.
Seriously. I work for a small company of 175 people spread out all over the country. Ever since Covid, we've had a Zoom meeting every Friday. Kids, dogs, etc. all get on. It's a blast.
The problem for a lot of us is that this isn't a car show. It's a family reunion. With a whole lot of driving during the day. Nighttime sure, sit around the fire, converse and tip a few back. Relax and let the day's fun sink in.
I'm really looking forward to next year's events and the future.
