Tour d'Wherever

I'm interested.  Terry was planning a Tour de Hoe again, but if he is well and ready to go, lets continue with that planning.

I would try to make a run North....I love the Napa valley, St Helena in perticular....

October thru March when there is little activity among the SOC, sounds good to me....

I wouldn't be able to do anything with Tahoe until late fall. Some of the restaurants and shore venues close down soon after Labor Day so I would want to look into that a bit.

The other thing we would want to address is whether it should be a one or two day event, especially if we expect to have participants from the south.

Barry, I love driving the wine country. I also love the drive around Clearlake and up the Mendocino coast? The weather is usually good through October.

I'd like to see some local, one day drives geared more for the NorCal group. Then maybe a two-day event that would include members from up and down the coast, as well as members from Nevada, Utah, etc.

Any interest in a drive to Speed Week at the Bonneville Salt Flats?

...and I won't be home from September 15 to November 1. This doesn't mean that I can't put together a plan for a Sonoma-Lake-Napa-Mendocino County event. It's just that I might not be able to make it for that event. It would be my loss, but those of you who wished to attend could still do the event on your own. I could publish a number of routes, publish them here, and you could meet at a hotel/motel up here (I could arrange a group rate, hopefully) that I recommend, then drive the routes on your own. If that sounds like a bad idea, maybe Terry could stick to the Tour d'Hoe this year, and I will handle the gig for 2013. Any other ideas are welcome.

We really enjoyed the last Tour D'Hoe. Cool scenery, great comraderie! This year, the timing of the Tour was just off for us. We would be up for another North Cal tour and two days would mean more time to hang out with my knucklehead SOC friends up north. Mendocino, Napa, Sonoma area would be cool!
