Does anyone know if my Speedster tow bar will work on a Spyder ? ......Bruce

I don't know Bruce. Since you've been talking about getting a Mendeola front suspension kit for your new Spyder, my guess is that your original tow bar will probably need to be modified. Maybe you will come up with something really cool and easier to attach/detach yet still have the up n down pivot action necessary between the towie and tower............Bruce
I think the Speedster tow bar length is OK Bruce. You'll just have to modify how it attaches to the new Mendeola mechanism. Possibly welding on some tabs there and then another set of tabs on the end of the tow bar that have pins welded on them facing the same direction so you can mount the bar up on both sides simultaneously and then install cotter or lock pins in the ends of those ?............Bruce
That sounds good Bruce ! let me know how you end up doing it !..........Bruce

Ditto.
@aircooled During Carlisle weekend, this site gets pretty dead.
BUT, just to give you an idea, I installed some tow points onto my Spyder a while back that I was going to also use for my tow bar that I will some day fabricate.

I have bottomed out on them a few times, but the roads around here aren't the greatest.
Carlos....Yeah ! Pretty dead ! Lots of people having fun ! I guess we'll just have to wait to enjoy what they will tell us about when they return. I was just entertaining myself.......Bruce
@aircooled interesting conversation going on ....I think there is a diagnosis for that
LennyC welded a couple flat brackets to his frame tubes in the very front, cutting small slots into the fiberglass. His tow bar attaches with a couple hitch pins.
I don't think he ever bottoms out, so they aren't too low.
I use a custom towbar. The speedster bar most probably won't work, as there are frame tubes welded to the beam on Spyders that make the space 3 to 4 inches narrower than a stock beam/towbar.
Not a big deal to modify or make a new one though.
