I have a tan CMC interior but it is shot and I wanted to go to black. If you can't trade, what do you want for the black, and what does it include.

Todd,
Try some Santa Fe or Buckskin SEM vinyl spray dye! It's works wonders. I used it for years without a hitch.
I saw them using it on Unique Whips the other night on TV. It's really gaining acceptance and lasts forever and is really wonderful.
You HAVE to give it a shot before investing all that $ in new seats and panels.

I have the same question. I have black interior that is shot. What would you take for the dark tan interior? Or is that another name for brown?

I am saying Dark Tan. I'll take a photo tonight and send it to you.
Its in great condition, it's just not the color I want.
I've been looking at the Dyes, but was scared to try it. I was afraid it would crack. I'll check it out.

Attached are pictures of the Dark Tan. Unless we have a trade, I am going to use it and try applying Vinyl Dye.
I have an exact set (Minus the back seat cover) in black. This includes the door and dash vinyl. I will give it up of $75. You pay shipping.

I bought them from through speedsterowners. They look brand new, but I am not sure of the age. They are in storage, so I need to go get them, and I'll take some photos.
I'll call you later today.

the only thing I use dye on are parts that don't get a ton of physical contact. I am not saying that to talk you out of them, it may just be me. So of the new dyes are nice, but I promiss it will eventually start to look worn, or rubbed off. I dyed the by black dash red to match my interior and it looked great for quite a while. The seats and the door panels were red vynil and not dyed.

Hey Todd,
If you do find a set in the lighter tan or don't end up trying the dye, I would be interested in the dark tan one. You can give me a call @561-702-0011.
Thanks,
Tim

Did you use the real stuff or the "crap in a can" from AutoZone or PepBoys, et al.
SEM makes a good product, but the vinyl paint from your local paint jobber is SUPERB! Exactly like factory original and available in every matching color imaginable, even low lustre metallics. You can scrape the results with a knife and you just end up gouging the surface down to the sub-strata cloth. The color stays put.
Getting the paint from a jobber is nice because you can color match Miata seats to home made panels, or VS door panels to racing seats, etc. It's easy and fun and the results are something to be very proud of and will out last your ownership for sure.
Really . . .
IMHO

the junk from Pep boys or Kragen or similar is just that junk. I used the real deal, tinted to match.
