The trans studs should be still in the trans ? Nuts available at most any hardware store along with the lower nut and bolt. The D bolt is VW specific, you can use a regular bolt but it is difficult to hold the head as you put a nut on hence, the D shape that rests against the starter. You can also get these at a used VW supplier such as "Bug Stuff"(Jack)in PA. (closed Mondays - 724 785 7000
Right, Mike, ditto that. Luckily, I can get to both sides of my starter bolt on the Spyder. Otherwise, you need the D-bolt, or a tab welded to a regular bolt.
