Trans/engine bolts?

I'm missing the four 17mm(??) bolts that attach the trans to the engine...can anyone give me the specs? Thanks.

There are two lower studs on the trans, one bolt and nut and lastly a "D" headed bolt that passes through the starter flange.

The trans studs should be still in the trans ? Nuts available at most any hardware store along with the lower nut and bolt. The D bolt is VW specific, you can use a regular bolt but it is difficult to hold the head as you put a nut on hence, the D shape that rests against the starter. You can also get these at a used VW supplier such as "Bug Stuff"(Jack)in PA. (closed Mondays - 724 785 7000

My lower studs are in the engine.

Also, my upper bolt on the driver's side goes into a threaded insert in the engine case.

Right, Mike, ditto that. Luckily, I can get to both sides of my starter bolt on the Spyder. Otherwise, you need the D-bolt, or a tab welded to a regular bolt.
