I'm in the Sacramento area, and have a new IM Speedster. Well it was new in 1977 according to the original receipt that came with this car. Maybe this was one of the first that IM built in So Cal? I just sold a 2.0L 914 and before that I had a 911SC. I'm looking forward to driving and working on this car. I've already found a lot of useful info on this site and will need more help later.

I too have a 911 (993) and a 914 in resto stage. The Speedster is a blast to drive, but may not do what the other two do quite as well. My Speed is a traffic light cruiser. It's not super fast (1500 dual carb bug motor) and doesn't stop quick (drum and disk). But it looks GREAT! I get more compliments on the Speedster just standing still then even the 993! You'll have a blast in your car. I wish I had the hills of Cali in my back yard again.....enjoy!
