Transmission vent hole? | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Prior to starting/running my just completed Speedster for the first time, Ive been reading over numerous hardcopy hints, suggestions, warnings, etc. that I've saved over the past 4 years.

One warning advises that I insure that the trans vent or breather hole plug on a freshly rebuilt trans is removed before running. Supposedly this would have been installed prior to shipping to prevent spilling the trans fluid.

The drain and fill fitting locations are obvious, but I can't find this vent location. Can anyone help define the location?

If I remember right, there is a hole in the top of the nosecone flange.

Yeah turn the trans on the bench, you'll quickly have a minor
JR Ewing flood and be able to locate the vent....
