I have to move my Speedster from Washington State to Arkansas. I am going to be driving a UHaul truck and need to tow my 356. Has anyone put a car inside a 6X12 UHaul? If I use a car trailer won't I need to build some protection around the front to stop rock chips? That is why I don't think I can use a car dolly (the cheapest way. Does anyone know the average weight of a Speedster?
Thanks Kmac

Maybe you need to employ the "Hoss Hallstrand and Gordon, Speedster Delivery Service".

'Course, we'll have to agree on an acceptable price and timeframe for delivery, and there's a slight surcharge for crossing the Mississippi River, but all that's a small price to pay for experienced, personalized delivery of your cherished Speedster to its' next home.

Heck! We'll even wash the road grime off before delivery!

I imagine a 6X12 would be snug front to back. I rented a 17' Ryder van to haul mine home. Tied down at all four corners. There wasn't a whole lot of room in front of and in back of the car. The only thing is, the rental agreement forbade hauling livestock and vehicles but what they don't know won't hurt them. I didn't realize this until I was there to pick up the car. Oh, well.

"Hoss Hallstrand and Gordon Speedy Delivery Service", just a-waitin to do business with ya. I believe that "Hoss" has already posted a picture of his side of the business (I think it was his best side, too - Hoss! Where's that picture at??)

'Course, this time of year with the snow and all, and Washington State be'in way on t'other side of the rockies, there would also have to be a slight "High Altitude Snow" surcharge in case we hit unexpected delays if the roads are closed in the mountains due to snow.

My brother, Darrell, reminded me of the proximity of all them volcanoes up there in the Washington State area and how they's all connected to those earthquakes causin' them "Zoo-Nami's", so we'll have to figger out if we need to charge a separate "Volcano and Zoo-Nami" surcharge, just to cover those unforeseen circumstances....

Barring all them other things, I figger that, given good weather and a stop-over in Golden Colorado for a tour of the Coors Beer Brewin' facility (at no extra charge to YOU!), and then another stop in "Red Dirt Country" to visit our other brother, Jim-Bob Ward (ok, so he's a HALF brother) [ok,ok, so he's really only half a brother, but we got the GOOD half] we should have your little Speedster delivered to Arkansas in about a week. Less if there's no snow or volcanoes or "Zoo-Nami's" and if we happen to catch brother Jim-Bob t'home (ya never know with him).

So what'cha think? We gotta deal or what?
Hey!

My neighbor, Mavis, just come up with a great idea! We told her about you bein' afraid of getting stone chips on the front of your car on that long trip SouthEast and she told us to do this:

Just before we hit the road with your Speedster to head on down to Arkansas, she told us to go to a Wal-Mart and get us some contact paper like she's usin' in her cupboards. She says it's sticky on the back side, and we could just stick it right on the front of your car and that'll protect it from stones and bugs and so forth, all the way down to Arkansas!

You can also have your choice of complementary or contrasting colors for the contact paper, or even go with real wood grain, just like them expensive PT-Cruisers (only you'll have YOUR wood-grain on the FRONT!)

This'll be a no-extra-charge service from your friends at Hoss Hallstrand and Gordon, Speedy Delivery Service

(Let's see those guys at Jim-Bob and Vince top THIS one!!)

Oh, I almost forgot! Hoss speaks fluent Tennessean, too! Just in case we have to detour through Tennessee 'cause of Snow in the Apple-chain mountains.
