I guess the old maxim "If the top goes down the price goes up" is true.
I saw the auction; two-man bidding war. Glad it worked out well for Troy...he's been marketing that car for weeks!

Well... nobody has ever thought the cab was worth more than the coupe. The speedster was always the desirable sister in the 356 family. If you take a step back, you can see how that's just the truth.
I think the long wait times are really driving up the prices of these cares. Ordered a car when I was 60. I’m 62 no with no real idea of when I’ll actually get a car. At some point you start asking yourself about how many years of health you have left to enjoy the car. I get it. Instant gratification is a wonderful thing.
Congrats Troy. FWIW, that’s the just about the first replica I’ve ever posted on a Porsche thread I follow on another website that’s ever got 100% positive replies. Mostly the color. (One of my imaginary internet friends went Gaga. His first 356 was Autrium Green)
The other is Lanes coupe. The only negative post about it was re: the body colored wheels. Which I countered with one of our number found that it was a factory option, and the riff raff calmed down.
Congrats @Troy Sloan. I checked it out early this morning and was a bit down upon seeing where the bids were at……but gosh, that accelerated quickly.
Further proof that it only takes two bidders (at least at the end).
That was fun to watch wasn't it!
Next up is a beautiful Bali Blue (pre 2018) Vintage Speedsters built (not Vintage Motorcars) traditional style Speedster with light tan interior with about 3,500 miles on it titled in California as a 1959 VW and it has an under the dash e-brake. There are a couple of pictures of it on my website: https://www.replicaspeedsters.com
