I can't get the hood to release on my JPS Suby Coupe. The T-handle under the dash doesn't seem to have enough travel to release the front trunk latch. Does anyone know if there's a secondary, or safety, release?
Thanks,

Hi Bob,
If your front hood latch is like mine, you should be able to reach it from underneath the car. I haven’t tried that, but when I opened my hood and look at the latch mechanism, I can see to the floor. Good luck.

Are you sure you're tugging on it hard enough? I've been through that on JPS Speedsters and just wasn't tugging hard enough.
I had a similar issue early on with my Beck due to the cable stretching. In my case I has to cut an access hole in through the fender well, a feature that has since been made standard.
Possibly have someone push down on the hood a little to release the tension on the latch, then pull the handle to release.
Your hood catch should have a center part like the photo. First see if you can see the release for the latch from below where the cable goes to release this center part. If not, see if you can get to it from below and unscrew it with a screw driver. Once free of the nut the hood should pop up. The pop safety catch like normal.
You should be able to see the latch looking up under the nose from the ground, have someone pull the handle while you look at the cable to see if it moves. There is also a safety catch.
He said "T handle" - doesn't that refer to the e-brake if it was a relocated one??
I thought all (I could be totally wrong) trunk releases and rear deck lid releases where a round knob...
CMC used a round black plastic knob (the cable mechanism is actually a choke cable) - the internal threads in plastic can quickly strip leaving the handle in you hand. I liked the one on my 914 - a lockable T-handle.
